Hi,

You can easily create a link to your email address with our link editor. When visitors click on this link, an email will open up in their default email program with your email address already filled in.

Here's how to do it:

1. Drag and drop a text widget onto your page
2. Type your email address
3. Highlight your email address
4. Click "insert link" on the text editing toolbar (this icon looks like three links of a chain and is located between the "font highlight" and "insert image" icons)
5. The link editor will open - enter your email address in the third block
6. Click on "OK"

Hello Delhidoc,

Publishing your email address may leave you open to a lot of spam. An open email address is easy for robots to find as they trawl the internet. I can think of two options that will minimise this potential annoyance:

1. A contact form such as available from Wufoo here on the building site

2. Using a facility which demands a human has to do the sending. In this case the Captcha facility works well. I'm sure it's a familiar thing that you have seen. When you click an email link it then opens up an image of irregular text which you have to transtype into the space provided. Then the email address becomes apparent and as a live link. The link to their free facility is:http://recaptcha.net/

Thanks Kershnee, altho i think i did not put my Q correctly. I don't want a link to open to the users default e-mail program. Basically i was looking for a contact form with a "submit" option that would send the query to my gmail inbox.
If i do not get that option here,
then I think i'll look up Peter's advice. As it is , i tried using 'Form Assembly' and it turned out to be something i have to pay to use. So i'll try wufoo now.
Thanks a ton Peter

Hi Peter,

Here are steps for using Wufoo:

Wufoo offers both free and paid options, so you can select the option that is right for you. When someone fills in your form their message will be stored in your Wufoo account and you will receive an email alert to let you know that you have a new message. You will find the Wufoo widget in the "Forms" folder in the Content sidebar in SynthaSite.

After dragging and dropping a Wufoo widget onto your page in SynthaSite, click on the link in the dialogue box sign up for the account with them if you have not already done so.

Then follow these steps on Wufoo:
1. Select the form you wish to use
2. Click on save form
3. The form manager will open up
4. Click on "notifications" - enter your details as to where you wish the info to get sent to (ie. your email address)
5. Click on save
6. Click on save settings
7. Click on code
8. Copy and paste the code in the Wufoo widget dialogue box in SynthaSite

Your Wufoo form will then be embedded on your page and you can begin collecting information from your visitors directly from your website!
