See the yola tutorial for managing your domain here: http://www.yola.com/customer-support/... Then go to the section called "Unlocking and transferring your domain" Hope this answers your question.

Hi Youssef,

There are two options when you want to move your domain away from Yola:

Option 1: You can edit your DNS settings so that your domain points to your new provider. Depending on the host you're moving to, it would either be editing nameservers or creating an A Record. This means that you will still get a renewal reminder from us 11 months after purchase. If you choose this option, please view this tutorial: DNS for your domain purchased from Yola. (Note this is the same link diane directed you to above, thanks diane!)

Option 2: We can release your domain so that it is transferred to another domain registrar completely. You will receive an email with a code from us that you can give to your new domain registrar. To unlock and transfer your domain, follow these steps:

1. Login to your Yola account and make sure you are on the "My Sites" page
2. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and tick the box next to "Enable advanced domain settings"
3. You will be scrolled back up to the top, click on "Advanced domain settings".
4. Click on the "Details" link next to your domain name.
5. If you would like to transfer your domain to another domain registrar, untick the button next to "Lock this domain name". An email will be sent to you and it will contain the transfer code you will need to give to your new domain registrar in order to complete the transfer. The email will be from our domain registration partner. Please remember to check the junkmail folder of your email in the event that it is sent there.

If you are willing to share with us why you would like to transfer your domain away we would really appreciate this, as your feedback could assist us in improving our service.

Thanks Youssef

It does not appear that you have changed your A-records to point elsewhere. Are you wanting to point your domain name to GoDaddy or are you wanting to change your nameservers?

Please follow the instructions given by Laura above to transfer your domain name.

My mistake - I'm sorry! I've made the changes on our side and both addresses will work with GoDaddy. If it doesn't work immediately, please wait a few hours for the change to take effect. You may need to clear your browser's cache: http://www.google.com/support/account...

Hello Youssef,

I checked your domain and it seems it isn't pointing to Yola.

It is pointed to 97.74.150.3 but it seems it isn't working correctly.

Where were you wanting to point it to?

I am experiencing similar troubles...
I am in the process of transfer to godaddy,

but it asks for a transaction # as well as a security code.

and it also states that the confirmation is sent to **domain**@contactprivacy.com

It seems like a never ending circle.

Hi there Dan,
Would you be able to tell us what your domain is?

It sounds like you have got domain privacy enabled on your domain. This is most likely what is stopping your transfer. It will need to be removed before you can continue.

Could you please email us with your domain name and we can then resolve your problem there.

Many thanks for working with us on this.

It is www.seaskinlingerie.com
I'm not sure about the privacy. It seemed everything went okay up till the godaddy point where it asked for the two numbers.
Where I only had the one that was sent from Yola...
I have in the mean time simply changed my nameservers to point where I needed.. (hostgator)

I still would eventually like the registrar to be godaddy (especially since I paid for the transfer already)

thanks for your help.

Hi there Dan, When I check your domain the contact email is seaskinlingerie.com@contactprivacy.com - this could be where the email from GoDaddy has gone. Would you like me to change your contact details so that you can receive the email?

Hi Dan, I am changing it now - I removed your post as it is not good to have your email in a public forum.

Hi there Dan,
You did have domain privacy enabled. I have removed it so the email should go to your original contact email. If you are unable to access it there, please let me know and I can change it to the one you requested.
I hope this helps.

Hi Joanne - I've removed the privacy from your domain name. It may take a few hours to take effect but you should be able to initiate the transfer successfully now. Please let us know if you need further information.

Jeremy and Marije,

I am having the exact same problem with transferring my domain to godaddy.com.. It says my admin email is "domain"@contactprivacy.com. So I am not recieving the Transfer ID and Security Code to complete the transaction. So very frustrating.

Hello Misty

Thanks for that domain name. It appears that priorityelectricllc.com is not purchased through us. It appears that you may have used Vistaprint to register your domain: http://whois.domaintools.com/priority.... You will need to contact them for more information about how to remove the domain privacy. I'm sorry that I cannot be of more assistance to you.

Hi there

I am currently trying to do the same as the original poster and transferring my domain to GoDaddy. I have unlocked my domain but the email with the codes has still not been sent to my email... is the problem the same as above, i.e. is it set to private?

My domain is www.comparethelandlord.co.uk, please could you help me to transfer my domain as I only get 7 days to do so (from yesterday).

Thanks,

Tom

Hi Tom. It can take 12-14 days for the transfer to complete, depending on the registrar you are transferring to, and if it expires during this time you will have a problem on your hands. If your domain is about to expire, you will first need to renew it before you can transfer the domain away from Yola.

The renewal period will also be transferred to your new registrar, so you will not lose any time on your domain.

hi Tom,

probably is to late to transfer, Yola said to transfer 60 days before expiration date with them.

Please check it.

This 60 day period relates to that time between registration with one registrar and transferring to another. For example if you buy a domain from one registrar then you cannot transfer it to another registrar within the 60 day s following. Similarly if you do transfer your domain in the allowable period then you cannot re-transfer it within another 60 day period.

The problem that Tom will hit is if he transfers his domain with only a short time left on his registration. It will expire during the transfer process and will not easily be able to be recovered (if at all) because in effect it will be in no-man's land without a registrar.

I am trying to transfer my registration and cannot get an auth code via email! Not really understanding why this has to be requested / received through email versus making it already available in admin.. but ok.
My domain is minamoore.com and I would like for a Yola Rep to please send my auth code via email.
