Hi Shazzy,
Here is an html example if you wanted to link to cnn.com:

Note: The on each side of the code should not be included if you use this. I put those there so the code would be non-functioning on this page.

The code is saying; http://www.cnn.com is where I want the link to go, and cnn.com is the text I want displayed on the page.

Also, if you drop a text widget into the table you can create links using the little icon that looks like a couple links of a chain. Highlight the text you want to become the link such as click here, click on the icon, then you will have the option of linking it to a page within your site or out to another site. If you choose to link it to another site just click that box and put the exact url in the field. With this option you don't have to do any html.

Hope this helps a bit.

Thank you Emmy.

I am having trouble trying to get it to work using this format...

.

test

test

Is there a way I can add the code you have given to this template to make it work?

Thanks for your help. :)

If I'm understanding you correctly, you would like the text test to be a link. I will insert the code making that happen in your table below. Let me know if I'm not understanding your question.

Thanks Emmy, when I copy your link in HTML nothing happens.

If you look at this news link on my site - http://www.filanforever.com/news.php - what I want to be able to do is when I post a new item that involves adding a link in the table - I want to be able to just type 'click here' and then add a link to that site. Instead of copying and pasting the address.

I am familiar with adding the links the normal way but not via this method.

Thanks for your help. ;o)

Hi Shazzy,
Would you show me the html code you are trying to use as well as give me the address you would like to link to, and the text you would like displayed on the page such as click here.

I fell maybe I'm not understanding what you are asking properly. Make sure to put at the end of the code, this will make it inactive so I can see what it looks like.

You're site is really nice!

Thanks!

Hi Emmy,

Thank you for your help as I have been trying and can't fathom it out.

Here is the code

The address I'm trying to link it to is http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=vA4RkdL....

Thank you for your help... and the comments on the site - I have not quite got there with it yet. lol.

Thanks

Hi Shazzy!

This should work, I tried it out myself. Remember to remove the code to make it inactive at the beginning and end. Let me know how it goes, good luck!

<!--

The wait is nearly over for the release of Croke Park. But for those who cannot wait then <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vA4Rkd... here to enjoy a sneak preview.

Thank you, thank you, thank you. ;o) the only problem I have is the 'click here' comes out in white - and I have a white background. I have tried changing the background colours but it doesn't seem all that clear with white. Is there a way to change the link text or is that not possible?

Sorry to be a pest but thank you so much for your help.

Hello,
I see what you are saying as your template uses a black background with light colored text and links. I am quite sure the link color is set by the template you choose. An employee will need to answer if it is possible to over ride the link color in the style sheet. I wish I could give you a more concrete answer.

Take care!

Hi Ruth,

The link is: http://www.filanforever.com/news.php.

It is the fourth news item down - I want to be able to change the background to white - and the click here link to black. But if this is not possible then no worries.

Thanks,
Sharon

Thanks Shazzy,

I can see the problem now.

I'm just wondering if you did something different when you added this one to the page, or did you use the same code?

Thanks for looking in to it.

I've had a look, and the code does the same thing on my page, shows up black with grey text. I have been able to edit the code to produce a white background like the other tables on your page, but the text then disappears. I'm going to have to seek some advice on that part of things, so it could be a while, but we are working on it. If it can be done we'll find a way.

Hi Ruth and Shazzy,
I created a test page on my site and pasted in the code above; seems like the code is doing something a little different for each of us, not sure why. It comes up with a white background, gray text, blue link for me, http://e-learnabout.com/test-page.php.

I'm interested to see what you find out Ruth!

Emmy,

You are using a different style to Shazzy and I. I think that's where the issue is.

Hi Shazzy,

Here's the code you can use. I've made changes to the code as well, because the HTML syntax was not a 100% correct. I used the font HTML tag to set the colour of the "click me" as you can see below:

The wait is nearly over for the release of Croke Park.
But for those who cannot wait then <a href=
"https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vA4Rkd... color="black">click here to enjoy a sneak
preview.
