I would like to delete my WWW A record from my DNS settings but there is no option to delete the default. Can it be removed? My domain is ghostwalkstratforduponavon.co.uk

Hi Helen,

I see the non www version of your domain is pointing to 146.101.249.107. May I ask what specifically you are trying to accomplish? If you are pointing your domain away, you should change both A records to 146.101.249.107. If you're doing something else, let me know and we'll advise you on how best to accomplish it.

Ok, thank you Laura. I was unsure if that was the case. Quick question about the CNAME should I also add a non WWW record for that too or is the one all I need.

Hi Helen,

Generally, you will change either the A records or the CNAME records, rather than both, but your specific service may use different settings. Your best bet is to check with the service provider to see if you need to enter A records, or CNAME records, or both, Then you can change the records as needed in My Yola.

I hope that helps!

My site is hosted on Moonfruit and they call for one of both which is why I.originally asked for the non www A record to be deleted. Do you think it will matter if it is left as I have it now? I'm a little confused.

Hi Helen,

Thanks for your reply.

Currently your domain typed with and without the www is opening a Moonfruit site:

http://www.ghostwalkstratforduponavon...

It looks like everything is working as it should, but if you like, you can post the exact settings you were given to enter so we can check that they are set as specified.

Hi Helen,

Going back to what Jen said, the screenshot below shows what is displayed when we navigate to www.ghostwalkstratforduponavon.co.uk or ghostwalkstratforduponavon.co.uk .

If that's what you want to accomplish, you're all set!
