I provide a local service and i want customers to be able to order items from my website but not to pay for them until after I have provided the service. That is, I don't need online payment, just a way of ordering multiple items through my webpage. Is there a way to do this? thanks

Hi minoinaire

This is a good question. The shopping cart options I know of all involve the buyer paying when they order the item. I will do some research and see if I can find anything that fits your description. In the meantime if anyone else knows of a product like this, please let us know.

Hi Monique and minoinaire,
This is exactly what I'm trying to do on another site of mine.

I've got quite far and have so far done 11 pages of order forms.
Each order form has aprox. 50 items with pictures.

I have a "mailto" option at the bottom of each page as this is the
only way that the forms can be submited at the moment.
As you can gather this is not desirable. It would be very handy
if the form data could be carried from page to page and only
be submitted on the final "checkout" page.

I have been searching and trying different snippets of code for
two days solid, on how to create cookies to save the pages, but
nothing seems to work.

This is the final hurdle for me, and If i can get it right I'll be happy
to share how I did it. Is it even possible to create cookies and read
them with SynthaSite or am I on the wrong track.

I've asked the same question as minoinaire on a previous thread
but not quite descriptive. http://getsatisfaction.com/SynthaSite...

Hey Boomer and Minoinaire - sorry to raise an old thread if you guys already figured this out; I just happened along it and thought I'd give a suggestion.

Have either of you tried out Wufoo's service? You can find them in our "forms" folder in the site builder. They're constantly adding functionality, and I've seen some people do some pretty tricky things with their form.

If you get the Wufoo form to work, or if you figured out a different way to do it, please let us know!

Managed to sort it out Chris, thanks a lot.

It was very tricky for me to get the cookie saving right.
I was thinking of sharing the code but I don't think it will be usefull
to many other users. If Minoinaire is still wanting to implement this
feature on his site, I will try explaining how I did it.
It's gonna be a bit like the blind leading the blind though. LOL

The site is still far from completion, but you can have a sneak
preview here: http://rfparts.synthasite.com/
