My site is about 1 1/2 months old and is indexed by Yahoo, Google and MSN but I want to change my free synthasite domain name because I think I will be able to get more targeted traffic to my site. My question is if I change the domain name do I have to start all over with indexing my site and submitting to the top search engines?

you will have to resubmit your site and add new sitemaps to your webmasters accounts, but it only takes a couple of weeks to get the new domain name to the top of the index ranks. You publish your site to your old synthasite URL and the new domain name, this means all the old links still work.
I would reccommend buying a domain name through synthasite, you get lots of extra support and everything is set up easily for the transfer over to your own domain name - good luck with your site - Lee.

Thanks for the great answer, Lee.

All the traffic from your subdomain will automatically be redirected to your new domain, so you can go ahead and it won't take your site to show up on your new domain with the search engines.
