Hi Krystian,

No particular type of domain name guarantees you a high search engine ranking.

It is the quality of your site, how often you update it, how useful it is for visitors, and how many other sites link to you that influence your ranking.

Many people have had a great deal of success with the search engines using free subdomains, but many people choose to purchase a custom (.com) domain now or at a later stage because it is easier for visitors to find and remember.

A great first step to help your rankings is to submit your website to Google - instructions for doing so can be found here: Google Webmaster Tutorial. You may also be interested in looking at our SEO Tutorials.

Yes, it is possible for subdomains to get a good search engine ranking. Many of our sites published to subdomains are achieving this. If you follow the advice Emmy has shared with you, you can rank highly using a subdomain.
