Many of the wikipedia images are in the public domain but it's better to use wikimedia commons to find public domain stuff--it will show you the image and any copyright information

Hi Bob,

It really depends on the image. If the image is copyrighted or was taken from a source it was copyrighted you should not use it.To be on the safe side, you can use our partner, iSTock http://www.istockphoto.com/yola-offer and buy images.

A similar site with free images you could use as an alternative is:

All images have copyrights the moment they are created....It is on you to find out on each and every image you post to make sure you are not violating a copyright....As mentioned above some are in public domain or have a Creative Commons license with special instructions on use.For instance you will find many image owners that will allow free use of their image on your site but only if it is not a commercial site....some have conditions that you link back to the image owner etc....Here is the Creative Commons site...http://creativecommons.org/choose/ it is a great source for finding out what you can and can't do even if you are not there to license your own work.
