Why are images blury when using the image widget? I put in a image that is already on my page (and un resized) and it becomes blurry even if i shrink its size its still extremely blurry. Seems like this is a recent development with the editor.

If i use html to put a image in it is fine but the image widget is really blurry. Then if i remove the blurry image and try to place it in again it just says "optimizing image" in the upper right corner of editor window and then never loads the image.

Hi airsupport,

Yola recently released a feature that automatically optimizes any image you add using the Picture Widget.

For more information on how this works, see this article: Image Optimization.

The original high res image is still available in your file manager. However, the image that is added to your page is compressed to ensure that your pages load quickly. Images with large file sizes are one of the primary reasons for poor performance of your website - so this is a very important feature for our users. However, if you are not used to it, it can be a bit of a surprise and I am sorry you were taken off guard.

The article above gives you other options for resizing your image if you do not want to use the new automatic image resize tool.

As this is a new feature, we will be looking for ways to improve it. Two things we plan to add as soon as possible is the ability to opt out of the optimization as well as only compressing an image if it is larger than 75KB.

If you have any other feedback that would help us improve this feature please send it to me so I can pass it on to our product team.

Thanks Laura that actually makes sense lol. Yea i definitely would like the ability to opt out in the future. That Image it was optimizing was only 12kb so it was taking quite a hit on quality i think.
