I have been trying on and off for months but cannot send emails from my purchased domain of bob-king.co.uk.
I set the server up with the mail.bob-king.co.uk for incoming mail and this works fine.
I set the outgoing server up as smtp.bob-king.co.uk and cannot send messages via this adddress.
I get an different error message at times
1. Cannot verify the server
2. Certificate is not valid
3. Server is not recognised.
Can anyone help??? please.

Hello Bob,

Setting up mail can be done with Google Apps. It has to be configured after site verification. The Yola Mail facility won't work for .co.uk domains if the subscription was purchased as part of the GBBO package and shouldn't be offered to you.

Can you tell us a little more about the mail system you are trying to use and what provider of the email client or web-based system you are trying to configure?

Hi there
Thanks for your response
I don't quite fully understand the technical language you are using but I'll do my best to describe the package I'm trying to access.
I am trying to configure the messaging on mac mail and have followed the instructions i the set up part of Yola with incoming mail server as mail.bob-king.co.uk and outgoing mail with server smtp.bob-king.co.uk.
The internet provider is virgin media and I have contacted them regarding this issue. However, they tell me that it is not a problem of their design and I should look to either mac mail or Yola for a solution.

Thank you Bob,

Your information is clear. Have you specifically subscribed to a mail provider?

We'll go through this a step at a time if that's OK?

Hi there
If you are asking if I specified that bob-king.co.uk was the only server to use the answer is yes, I checked the button.
In general, I am subscribed to virgin media's e mail

OK,

The configuration requirements then need to be set up as proscribed by Virgins system. If you have a web-address for their setup I can look at it and get back to you. This would all need to be done on your account with Virgin and doesn't involve Yola.

Thanks for that
I'll have a look for a web-address as I spoke to them on the phone previously and they were less than helpful.
When I find any info I'll get it to you.

Thanks again for your help.

I'll just add that you don't automatically get an email subscription when you subscribe to a host like Yola or when you buy a domain (not invariably).

Generally you need to subscribe to an email facility to allow this to work for your domain. The mail subscription is generally then configured in your hosts DNS Management facility.

Hi again

Sorry but I think I've mislead you.
I did purchase two email addresses seperately for the domain and it's these I'm having trouble with.
Cheers
Bob

OK. nearly there. .co.uk domains are part of the above-mentioned program which is a discounted subscription where you get your domain free for 2 years thereafter you pay. Does this sound like the system you have subscribed through. (There's a reason for the questions)

OK Bob. Think I have got the info required.

The Yola Mail facility doesn't work with this program. You shouldn't have been able to buy the mail subscriptions with this program. That's not an issue if this is correct you will get a refund I'm sure.

What you do need to do is to setup something like Google Apps Mail which does allow you to use your domain for eamil configuration:

The instructions for doing this are in a tutorial: Setting up your email with Google Apps

If you want to go this way I am happy to work with you to set this up.

Hello Bob

Gop presumed that you are participating in our GBBO partner programme where users cannot have Yola Mail, but as I can see in our system, you have a normal Yola Bronze account for which Yola Mail is available, and your domain bob-king.co.uk is managed by us. I could also see that you have Yola Mail for this domain.

The reason why you cannot send e-mails may be simple: The address for the outgoing e-mail is the same as the one for the incoming e-mail. Please change your address for the outgoing e-mails to mail.bob-king.co.uk. You can see which details to use in your My Yola under the "Yola Mail" tab (left-hand side menu). Scroll to the bottom of the Yola Mail page to view the details for e-mail clients.

Please let me know if it still shouldn't work, and I will investigate on it further.

Hi there
This situation is really frustrating.
I have followed all the advice available and have even followed the thread to access via google apps. All to no avail.....
I got as far as entering a DNS code into Yola which it wouldn't recognise...
What is the solution??????

Hello Bob,

You can stop with the Google Apps procedure. I gave you incorrect information and I am very sorry that this has caused you confusion. It is my mistake completely.

Stefan has found that in fact you do have a Yola Mail account and it will work for you.

Please go back to you Yola Mail configuration and follow Stefan's following direction:
The reason why you cannot send e-mails may be simple: The address for the outgoing e-mail is the same as the one for the incoming e-mail. Please change your address for the outgoing e-mails to mail.bob-king.co.uk. You can see which details to use in your My Yola under the "Yola Mail" tab (left-hand side menu). Hi there

Thanks for that info
I have already tried changing the outgoing server to mail.bob-king.co.uk and that doesn't work either.

Hello Bob

From what our system tells me, everything is alright with your Yola Mail mailboxes. If you can still receive e-mails, this means that your Yola Mail is apparently working. Are you working with Microsoft Outlook or Outlook Express as your e-mail client? Or are you using a different e-mail client?

Hello Bob

I'm really sorry for this tricky issue, but we'll do our best to help you sorting it out!
I will speak to a specialist in our team about this problem today.

Can you please check for me in the meantime if you can still access your Yola Mail via your My Yola dashboard? Can you log into the e-mail account through the webmail login page? Can you send and receive e-mails there? I have sent two test e-mails to both of your mailboxes, please check if you got them, and let me know.

Thank you for working through this with us!
