Trying to figure out how my yola index page at lincolnafb.org puts the body of everything way off center to the right so that people have to scroll right to view the main body. Its been like this for a while and I know very little HTML and no CSS. Any advice on how to fix this?

Hello Rob,

Nice web site! I'm not sure since I haven't looked at your web page code yet but it may be just your pictures size - the picture of the missile and the picture of Clifford James Moore. If you make those pictures smaller I think the page margin will move in.

Hmm, I sized down the pictures then outright removed them without effect. I noticed though all the margins on my text and picture boxes were 40 pixels to the right. Changed all of them back to no margins without effect either.

The entire page, banner, submenu and body are all effected. Darn it I wish I knew how to correct it, its not the biggest issue in the world but I sure appreciate your help. I migrated from geocities and appreciate that there are people out there to help.

Thanks!

Hello Rob,

I can see lots of padding and margins on many elements that may be affecting the site's positioning of content.(viewing your source). It currently appears as an offset which I have no idea about.

You mentioned that you migrated from another place, my question is how (the process) did you do this? It may give the clue?

Okay looked into not only margins but PADDING! on some of the boxes. Website still leans right but at least people don't have to scroll horizontally anymore. Thanks for your help

That's good Rob,

I agree horizontal scrolling is a huge turn-off and a reason to leave a site. Hopefully you can optimise this so that it appears perfectly.

You can set margins to negative values which will move them left of default. Go carefully though as you can move them off the page and out of reach for editing if using widgets but OK for HTML settings.
