Hi, I'm trying to edit my site in Yola but my index page will not load fully. It diplays the google ads and the free widgets (hit counter, current weather) but not the text or image widgets.
All the other pages load fine.
It's been like this for 2 days and I have tried alternative computers and IP's but the result is the same.
Can you help please.
Regards
Mark

Hi Mark,

Could you post your site's URL so that we can take a look?

We generally offer this advice when a site doesn't want to load:
1. Clear your browser's cache. This link has more information: http://www.wikihow.com/Clear-Your-Bro....
2. Check your privacy settings. You must accept cookies from Yola. Please click on this link to find instructions for accepting cookies with your browser: http://www.google.com/cookies.html.
3. Check that your browser is set to enable Javascript. This link has more information on how to check: http://www.google.com/support/websear....
4. Try loading the site in a different browser (eg. Firefox, Safari, Internet Explorer).
5. Try loading the site on a different computer or network if possible.

Can you try those steps and let us know if they help. We can also take a look at your site.

just for the sake of trouble shooting

Have you cleared your browser history?
Does it load from another browser - eg. firefox instead of IE?

also is this your URL? http://www.westseas.com/

The url is: http://www.westseas.com.
The site opens fine on the net. It's only the index page in Yola (editing) that will not open fully (loading page icon shows but is stalled)
It allowed me in once of +/- 20 attempts.
I used IE and Mozilla on different computers...same result.
I'll follow the steps that you've kindly given me and let you know.

Hi Mark - thanks for coming back to us. There's nothing that appears to be wrong with your index page. If you could let us know if any of the steps help and we'll go from there.

Hi again,
I have done all that you suggested but it is exactly the same.
When I'm in my Yola account, I can edit every page except the index page. It starts to load..and does load and display the google ads, the hit counter and weather widgets..but not the text and image widgets.
If this helps: The red "loading page" is displayed permanently at the top of the page but stops (stalls) after the google ads etc.. have loaded. I cannot drag and drop any widgets from the side-bar nor open any of the widgets to edit, delete, move or whatever. When i pass the cursor over the widgets and/or click on them, they do not turn green (highlight).

One other point. if it's of any use..if I click to close the page, the loading page icon restarts but nothing happens.

As I said..it's only on the index page.

One other thing...this all started after I put a Yahoo verification code in my description text (in the properties side-bar).

I wanted to see if Yahoo would crawl/verify/accept it there.

Could this cause the problem?

Hi Mark - I have seen it once before, where the incorrect code was added to the Google Webmaster verification area and the page wouldn't load. Can you remove it and we'll see if that makes a difference?

A little more info:

After the google ads etc..has loaded, the progress report bar states "Done" ...then the opening page icon stalls... and 'Downloading picture http://sitebuilder.yola.com/ide/image...' is displayed in the progress bar.

This any help?

It sounds like either the yahoo code or another peice of incorrect code is causing problems with the site editor.
You say you can get in 1 in 20 goes? On that 1 attempt try to delete the yahoo code. Then delete the second last peice of code you added, seeing if it changes anything as you go.

I once lost my home page by adding incorrect code, its a pain in the a*s, i know.

Good advice, Lee. I have sent this thread to Kershnee so that she can find out exactly what bit of code is to blame. While we wait for her, Mark, you could try what Lee has suggested.

Hi Mark,

I have also been dealing with you via email regarding this issue. Can you confirm that your index page is now loading correctly?
