Inflated site traffic statistics?

Does the site traffic counter include the number of times I edit or preview my site from the Yola dashboard?

I have noticed that some days the number of visits has increased quite a lot, but I think they are sometimes also days when I have been editing and previewing the website. It has only just occured to me that the two may be related. Can you shed any light please?

Hello Linda

As far as I know, the preview hits should not affect the traffic counter of your live site. Are you sure you just previewed your site and didn't go to the live site after publishing?

If you want to be sure, set up a new website and test it. Publish it, but never navigate to the live site, just do some changes and preview your page a couple of times. Then check your site statistics. You should see zero visits. Keep us posted if you like!

Thank you Stefan for responding so quickly.

I did as you suggested and set up a new website and did some editing and previewing of the pages. From this exercise I can confirm without doubt that editing and previewing a website do not inflate the site traffic figures.

Thanks again
