If you have two different html codes to insert in the widget box can both be placed within the same box ( spaced of course ) or need you create two html code boxes and insert separately ? I put two codes in the one html box but advertiser link does not show .

Hi Alan

It's best practice to have each HTML code in its own separate box.

For example, you might have a code and a code. These should be in two separate boxes.

Please let us know if this does not answer your question or if you need further help with this.

Hi Alan,
For organizational purposes it is best to put them into separate HTML widgets especially if they are different types of code that produce different things. This will make it easier for you as well if you ever need to edit them.

If you are still not able to get the advertiser link to show you can give us the url of the page it is on and also point us in the right direction of the widget and we can check out the code.

I took Littleus advice and inserted code in separate boxes on the index page . http://sitebuilder.yola.com/ide/index...

I did notice on the published site page only the Yola ad appears so i assume that is normal until the advertiser updates . I am still not clear on whether i need to insert the code onto every page i publish or just on the index page ?

Hi Alan,
Can you tell me which one of your pages this is on and what type of an ad I should be looking for. I will be able to better understand the problem if I can see it.

Actually not sure if i have a problem :-) But , if i understand correctly ( and i may not ) an advertiser symbol should show but i don't know if it would show on my index page or elsewhere .

Here is a link to the latest article i published if this helps ?
http://2012prophecy.yolasite.com/

You may also notice that the Google ads though relevant are not centered well which is just the opposite of what i see on my index page . :-) But maybe an issue for another time .

Hi Alan,
When you place ads on the main page of your blog they will show up in that same place when you click into any of the single blog posts. Looking at the Google Ads, they appear to be displaying properly, it might just take some time for Google to begin to display ads that are relevant to the topic of the site.

If you would like to center them in the widget area, can you try putting this at the beginning of the ad code block: and this at the end .

Hope that helps, let us know if you have any further questions.

The Google Ad relevance is a bit weird . On my site builder page they are not relative but on my published pages they are.

Now , on my site builder page the ads are centered but on my published pages they are not . :-) I tried putting the into the code page on site builder and updating but so far the published page ads are still off - center . Maybe Google needs time to correct ?

Hi Alan,

This is what I see when I view your published site (I'm in Firefox 3.5.2):

I also notice that the Yola Footer has moved to just below you ads and there's some funky code from Kontera - that could be affecting things for you.

Thanks for the view Marjie but now i am even more confused . When i access i don't see the code words at all and the Google ads i see are related to content unlike the ones you saw ( Aug 15 here ).

Now , i do see the Yola footer where you see it but i assumed that's where it was supposed to be as that's where it shows on my build index page as well .

I am using Firefox 3.0.12 but that's because i use Linux and it's am embedded browser within the Linux application . But i would not think the browser would effect what you see code wise ?

Definitely have to research this further and get more feedback as to exactly what others are seeing .

Some of The majority of HTML tags do require both an open and a close tag (a begin and end tag) i checked you source code and you forgot to closed your center tag.

You must use like this.

<!--

<center></center>

-->

Hi, Alan, Can you update us on what happen?, I checked your site again and now i did not see your Google AdSense, but the Google AdSense code is still there.

Please note not to use the <!-- and --> attribute, what i mean you must to edit is your center tag, what you have on your site is < center> < center>, try to edit it with the use of end tag like this: < center> < /center>

Hi Alan,

So your trying to add google ad's but there not showing?

I've heard of threads in the past where the google ad's don't show because there is no meta content on the page.

Fill in all the keywords, window titles etc. in the content sidebar. (see image below)

Then for centering the code...

Code works like this... you open it with the instruction eg. <center> which simply means center the following code and then at the end of the peice you want centered you close it eg. </center>

So it looks like this

<center>

<script type="text/javascript"><!--
google_ad_client = "pub-6157806652091437";
/* 234x60, created 8/2/09 */
google_ad_slot = "4878409865";
google_ad_width = 234;
google_ad_height = 60;
//-->

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

-->

I would go ahead and delete all the widgets containing google adverts... start fresh.

Check list:

1. make sure your adsense account is up and running.

2. Add all the keywords, window titles etc. to your web page.

3. delete all the old attempts at adding the google adverts.

4. Add the google advert code (without any center tags)

5. When the advert is showing then add center tags as i show above.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

That should do the trick.

Good luck - Lee.

Update

I went back into the code block on the site-builder page and re-did the code with the " center " elements added . Google ads showed up immediately on my published site but still not centered . Nothing shows on my site-builder so maybe i just wait for Google to catch up . :-)

2nd update

Google is back on my site-builder now so thanks everyone for the help .

Still wondering about Marije post though because i don't see what she saw but i am not sure if that is because the Ad account is in my name and my url is blocked from accidentally clicking an ad ?

if anyone wants to dive into this one they are welcome . :-)

adverts dont show up in the site builder thats normal.

From what i can see on your page they look centered to me.

Your source code is showing that the first advert is centered correctly but the second is not closed ( no at the end)

If you add the code in a text widget (add a text widget > press the little html button in the top menu)

You will be able to space them out in the properties section (content side bar)

"adverts dont show up in the site builder thats normal."

Whoa , my adsense ads have showed up in my site builder since the first day Google loaded them in ( they just aren't relative to my content ) :-) Maybe because i have a blog ?

Anyway , it's dinner time here ( Philippines ) so i will tackle first thing in the am ... :-)

Thanks again for the help Duke

Hi Alan just to give an explanation for why your ads not show after you've made a change to your code yesterday, I suggest you to modify your < center> < center> and change it to < center> < /center> but what you did is, you use this tag <!-- before your Google AdSense reason for the ads not to appear.

This what exactly you have on your page:

<!--< center> Your Google Adsense Code -->< center>
