Internet Explorer Bugs Fixed!

Over the last 10 days a number of our users have reported some strange display problems with their sites. The layout was either changed or the style sheet simply failed to load. However, when the page was refreshed it displayed correctly. This affected users who were working in Internet Explorer.

It seems that when we did a bug fix for the Opera browser we inadvertently introduced the Internet Explorer bug. It appears that this issue was caused by a content directive (pragma = no_cache) that IE did not like. We needed this originally to fix a cacheing problem in Opera. However, we now hope and trust that styles now will work properly in all our supported browsers.

In order to get your site to display properly you should log out if you are in SynthaSite and login again. Opening any site will cause it to be updated. You can then simply republish your site.

The developers have asked that if anyone still encounters a problem that they please report it. We believe that the fix is successful, but we are asking for your assistance to confirm this.

We also had a bug where it was not possible to type in a text box if you were using the Decayed style in Internet Explorer. This bug has also been fixed.

We apologise for the inconvenience and we would like to thank all our users who reported the problem and helped us to fix these rather tricky bugs!

If it helps anyone, I used AOL, and when adding text to my site and hitting return, it would skip a line each time. I emailed support and was told it seems the same might be happening with internet explorer.

I tried the same on FireFox and it eliminated the problem, while Syntha is working on this, you can downlaod FireFox for free here:

I started to use the Safari Web Browser (which I think is simply amazing,)
and when I when to my testing site (http://www.testing101.synthasite.com)
A few images failed to pop up. (for example, the banner.)
Either this is a problem having to do with the template,
or a Synthasite bug for The Safari Web Browser...
Please Fix This!

I had a look at your site. Can you tell me what the filenames for your images were? I think the problem is with the file manager, not the style or Safari. However, this is a just a hunch and I need a bit more information. Please let me know so that we can try to get to the bottom of this.

This has not been resolved. The shape and theme of the site is ok but code is appearing within the visable site on the web here is how it looks to customers in IE

During the build of the site when we view it in Internet Explorer there is code appearing that does not appear in Firefox here is an example of what it looks like. This ha been taken from the site in question

Living Solutions currently runs two projects, gardening and woodlands; both are focused on improving the environment for people and wildlife. Within the garden project we carry out green space maintenance work for a local housing association and provide a grass and hedge cutting service to its tennants. The team also

The woodlands team carries out work such as hedgerow restoration and selective tree felling to safeguard native species. Hi Mark. The bug mentioned at the top of this thread is one where the style sheet simply failed to load at all. This bug occurred three months ago and has been resolved to the best of our knowledge. If you are seeing an error now I am going to treat it as a new issue and take it from there. Could you share the URL's of the sites you are referring to so that I can pass this on to our developers for debugging?

Hi there - http://noinvestmentearning.blogspot.com/ is not a SynthaSite - if you're having a problem with your site on SynthaSite, please post that URL.

I'm not sure why you would be experiencing this kind of trouble in IE. I also get the same message for your site on IE that it won't load. The only thing I can think of is that perhaps one of your codes is somehow breaking the page and rendering it inoperative in IE. Firefox is a bit more forgiving with codes. Can you try removing the last code you added on that and see if this makes any difference?

Hi Chau,
I am wondering like littleus if it might be one of the two custom pieces you have on the page; the Information Transfer Pager or the drop down menu. I also cannot bring up the page in IE7, but it works fine in Firefox. You can try removing those to see if that helps. Also, can you try putting them on a page in a test site to see if that page breaks as well. Let us know how this goes for you.

Thanks littleus & Emmy for trying to help. I think it is because I'm using the Smartlook viewer through Issuu and the code is getting embedded in between the div separator and not after like it should be. I'm now trying to figure out how to get the viewer code after the div separator but still within the page (or somewhere right before , but I'm not seeing that I have that much control over things...so I'm still working on it, but at least I know the cause.

I'm not sure what browser you're using to do your editing in your site builder.. but if you implemented the code in FF, then remove it and trying implementing it instead in IE. Also.. try separating your codes. Place any head codes into one HTML widget and the body code into another. Or if you have script codes and html codes... separate them into their own boxes. See if that helps.
