I nearly had a heart attack.

I put in all my details, than click Get Started, next thing, Loading Site. WAIT!!!

Sorry, but Why does it say Get Started.

I was thinking about. A welcome maybe, and a contact us email ,why not share you GS community, All with a description.

I don't think (in my case) that Get Started is appropriate. why not Start Building,
What if someone doesn't known what kinda site they want to create? I was experimenting left the site and came back

I hope you don't mind my input about this.

P.S
i am a person that likes to see what a site has to offer.

Wow JayJay!

Thank you very much for that. The button used to say "Start Building" and we changed it recently. Do you think it would be better to go back to this? I am very interested to hear how you experienced this event as a new person signing up. I will definitely pass this feedback on.

We do send out a welcome email when you sign up that includes a link to the forum. Hopefully you received yours by now. In future we would also like to implement something like a demo or a tour, or even an opportunity to take the site builder for a "test run" before you register.

Do you think that would help?

Oh, it seems you don't understand me. Instead of going to creating a site. Maybe a welcome message, and a descriptions, and ways you can contact yola, and a link to your tutorials to get started.. A tour of the builder i don't think is necessary as yola is basic, drag and drop.

I think Start Building would be the best. Get Started kinda gives the message of , enter your credit card details.

Understand?

Thanks for the clarification. So if I understand you correctly your suggestion is:

1) The button you click after you sign up should say "start building" instead of "get started" (interesting point about the "get started" message causing you to expect that we would ask for your credit card details!)
2) Instead of loading up the site builder right away we first pop up a screen with a welcome message and links to where you can get help.

If that is the suggestion, I must say I like it! We can put a "continue" button on the screen so people can click that and then load up the site builder. How would that be?

I can't make any promises as there might be other implications to doing this that I am not aware of, but it is certainly worth passing this suggestion on to our user experience team.

Yep what i was thinking. But no pop up screens, just when you click Get Started / Start building, it takes you to that page.

A continue button, is kinda common sense to be honest ,but what about instead Start Building.

And you may want to alert the user you sent them an email.

Well we don't want to have 2 buttons that say "Start Building" but I am sure we can come up with something else. How about a message that says: "Welcome to Yola! An email has been sent to your address with important information that will help you get started with your site." We wouldn't want to take people to a completely different page as this would break the flow. But I take your point about letting them know an email has been sent.
