Is it possible to move my navigation?

Hi there!

I've been working on some details for my site. I have created a simple design that I'd like to use as my background image. I have done this, but there's a small issue.

I am using the CleanSlate theme. Now the navigation is aligned on the left, and quite a distance from the top of the page to allow for a header and banner image. I have tweaked a few of these things (like banner image size) to fit in with my new design. I have re-aligned the navigation to the left of my page. Now I want to do something else: I want to raise my navigation.

You can see my design at http://www.bsdesignonline.com/testing...

I want to have my navigation over the dark strip at the top of my site. Is there any CSS code that will allow me to do this?

Thanks,
Brandon

In your CSS overrides instead of using:

#menu {
margin: 0;
margin-left: 5px;
margin-right: 5px;
border-bottom:solid 0px #CCCCCC;
}

Use:

#menu {
position: relative;
margin: 0;
margin-left: 5px;
margin-right: 5px;
border-bottom:solid 0px #CCCCCC;
top: -50px;
}

Adjust the top: -50px; to whatever negative value you need to get the placement you are looking for.

That was easy. ;)

Happy site building

Recheck that code as I edited it after I posted and I am not sure that you caught the first or the correct one now... You do need both left and right margin settings after all. If the code is the same as it is now then disregard... ;)

Nope you got the correct one as I just saw your menu rise to the occasion if you get my drift. ;) LOL

Great job... Looks perfect centered in the dark brown like that. Odd that the green contrasts the brown as well as it does. ;) Nice choice...

Thanks! I agree. While we're on the topic, do you know of CSS that would allow me to display which page a visitor is currently on? Code that would point to a small graphic like a triangle or line that would appear under the link of the page which I'm on...? :)

You know I know you are probably gonna hate me but the way that I learned the most was to search for what i needed and read from them all... And were there a lot...

Google for "css current page indicator" and test as many as you can until you find the one that works.

It's there if you take your time...
