If I upgrade to a yola silver account can I use different fonts for the text of the website I create? I like the usability of yola in terms of site design but I don't think the standard font selection on the free account- it is not professional enough for my needs.

Hello betsyschairer,

Upgrading to Yola Silver will not change the fonts that we offer in the sitebuilder.

The font selection we have represents a complete list of browser safe fonts. See: Website Browser Safe Fonts. This means that the fonts in our Text Widget will work consistently in whatever browser your visitor uses. Unfortunately, there are only a few fonts that work in all browsers. If we add any more fonts, you would run the risk of not having your text display correctly for some of your visitors, which is why we have not added any of these fonts.

You could add custom fonts from an external source by copying and pasting or editing the text HTML. However, you should be aware of the following dangers:

1. Copying and pasting could introduce formatting that is not web-friendly and this would cause your site not to load, so we don't recommend it.
2. Your site will not display consistently in all browsers.

The only safe way to introduce custom fonts on your page is to upload them as image files. You can do this if you have access to any image editing tools such as Photoshop, or you can try

Please let me know if you have further questions!

Hello Betsy - the list of available browser safe fonts are what you see in the drop-down list in our Sitebuilder when you click on the Text Editing Toolbar. This is available in both the Yola Free and Yola Silver. If you wish to implement other browser safe fonts, then you will need to alter the HTML code, which again can be used in either types of accounts.

I hope this answers your question. Please let me know if it does not.
