Great people of the SynthaSite family... I'd like to paint my google analytics country map green, and city map orange. If you live anywhere in the world other than Orlando, Florida please visit my site. I'd love to hear from you as well... use my request form to share your web-site URL, and I'll look at your site too. As I fill up each country, I will add to this thread and request missing countries. So far I have USA, Italy, India & South Africa. Thanks a lot. Ciao, Guido.

Thanks, Ruth. I think it would be cool to have a visitor from every country in the world... simple things amuse me! I'm trying to figure out how to post the map so people can see my progress. It would also encourage GA usage, which would help anyone who adds it to advance their site. Cioa, Guido

Guido Graphics,

Here is a link to a map that you can put on your website. It will caputure and display the location of your visitors, so that your visitors can also see what you see in Google Analytics. http://www.clustrmaps.com/

It's very easy to apply to your site, type in your URL and your email address and they will email you the HTML code you need to add to your site.

If you decide to use it, let me know when it's up and I'll go visit your site to add South Africa to the map.

Boomer, what up bra! I'm trying to get the map from Google analytics onto this thread. I have tried every option there for export and have e-mailed it to myself all 4 ways. Can't get Photoshop to open it so I can crop it, and save as a jpeg to post here. Any ideas? I just added clustr maps (ruth sugested it earlier) but it's not real time either, and only on my website.

Looked at that cluster map, didn't like it.
Like the visual idea though.

I use eWebcounter - real time stats.
http://www.ewebcounter.com/
I use google analytics as well - more powerfull
but takes too long for stats to show.

Got the eWebcounter link from ed.

added it, them removed it... still not what I'm looking for, but many thanks for the suggestion. I'm already 6 countries and over 60 cities into this, and don't want to start over. There has to be a way to cut, copy or print the GA map... just got to find it. I tried to print the screen so I could scan it, but it left out the map - text only. I'll get it someway...

Y'all are awesome! One day into this, and I have received visits from:

Florida, New York, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Illinois, Nebraska, Arizona, California, Idaho, Washington - USA (22 cities from 11 states!)

Rome, Sassari - Italia
(Che se dice, paesani! Voi sieti proprio molto gentile, grazie mile a tutto.)

Cape Town, Durban - South Africa

Chennai, Trivandrum, Bhopal - India

Milton Keynes - UK

Reyhjavik - Iceland

St. Lambert - Canada

(plus a few others from USA & UK that Google Analytics didn't show the location on for some unknown reason)

Don't see your country reprsented? Please visit http://guidographics.synthasite.com

If you leave me your site URL's, I will make a new site to feature one layout from each country... a SynthaSite tour of the world. Might be cool to see the different design styles for each country. First come, first served.

There's a form on my site under contact info. If you've already visited, but didn't leave your site URL, Please go back and do so.

Thank you all. You are all very kind to help.

Boomer buddy I don't see a reason for you to go to such great lengths to paste it into Paint and then print it then scan it back into your computer when you can save the image once pasted into paint as a JPEG or a GIF and then crop using your photo editor program.

To print then scan looses so much quality and resolution...

Hey bra, you been up all night again? you called me boomer twice. get some sleep. :) Thanks a lot for the flag buttons, I will definitely use them for the upcoming "tour of the world" website to categorize the countries. O.K... about the print screen... first nothing happened so I found print screen utility in my programs file. The only thing it does is let me change to landscape, a button for upload, a button for capture screen (then I can print it) and an O.K. button. How do I leave the screen clip in my system and open it in photoshop or picnic? Printing it came out almost invisible it was so faint. It took me 1/2 hour to get it to look like it is... which is still only so so. Keep in mind, Up until 5 months ago, all I had, and knew how to use was pagemaker. I always use typesetters and did paste-ups. I went back to cabinets 14 years ago, and just last feb. added memory to this dinosaur and started to teach myself photoshop, restart my graphics business and use a computer to this extent. I never even had internet until about 1 month ago! Ever. (refused to have it in the house while I was raising my children - ( As an overprotective single parent, I believe the internet is basically evil :)

The site I have was my first attempt at the web as a medium. Thank God for synthasite, or I would never have gotten this far. For my first site, I think it came out decent. Anyway... any light you can shed on this map issue would be greatly appreciated. Ciao, Guido

yeah, yeah, yeah late night busy, busy, busy and Ed was reading a post from Boomer above and was thinking about work, life and lost love and got his wires all messed up and called you Boomer. You should be so lucky I didn't say the names of some of our most knowledgeable and respected female Reps out there because in my late nights and busy days this all could be a matrix like dream and I didn't build a website after all Neo...

As to the print screen button... Buddy after you press it nothing amazing or miraculous is supposed to happen. Nothing does and it won't open your screen up and a program opens. If done as it describes in the computer manual with a tap of the key and immediately thereafter open your Paint program and without passing go (Monopoly) either click EDIT then PASTE or right click and PASTE...

Now if that don't work I got a program I will send you which does the same thing but the long way around.

Neo... P.S. I print screened a map and displayed it below to see the difference.

It may not have been deleted and you could find it here:
Click “START”
Click “ALL PROGRAMS”
Click “ASSESSORIES”
Then scroll down to locate “Paint”

If it is not located there you might have only deleted the shortcut, not the actual software. Check by searching for mspaint.exe. If Search locates it, right-click the program (mspaint.exe), click “SEND TO” then “DESKTOP create shortcut” A shortcut will appear on your desktop.

If it's actually (mspaint.exe) that is missing then in Control Panel, open Add/Remove Programs, and click Add/Remove Windows Components. Click Accessories and Utilities, then click the Details button. Click Accessories, then click the Details button. If Paint is not selected, click it. If it is selected, click it once to clear the box then click it again to re-select it. Click OK, click OK, click Next. Click Finish.

However if you need to you can reinstall Microsoft Paint by following step.

(You must have Windows XP or other CD in your CD drive)

1 open control panel and goto add remove programs.

2 Click on Add remove windows components

3 In new window select Accessories and utilities and click on details
4 from new windows again select accessories and click on details

5 from another new window select paint and click ok
then ok then ok.

Installation will be start.

usually it looks the best when you use the select tool in Paint (the dotted box on top of the left side toolbar) and select the map with the tool then right click "Cut" then go up and click "File" then "New" then click "OK" in the save changes to untitled pop up box... Then in a new blank Paint screen right click "Paste" then click "EDIT" then "SAVE AS" then in the scroll down box select "JPEG" then rename your image and then "SAVE"

This way it will look the best quality for viewing.

Cool, bra. I actually made a shortcut from the file under "last known" and it works. the map I placed on my previous reply was from paint. I saved it as a png file. seemed to work. thanks for the directions, It will make it easier... I got it done the first time, but didn't really know how. I'll try to restore the program like you said also so it will be back under programs like it should be. Thanks again for all your help. I've been fighting with this for 3 days, and the print screen is so easy!
