I am using an experimental page to make a new index page. I am ready to change over, is there a way of copying a whole page and transferring all the text and photos in one move rather than copying each text editor and each photo.

Thanks for any replies

Hello Alec,

Have you made this experimental page within the same site?

If so you don't need to copy anything over. Simply rename your experimental page as your Index page. You will be asked to confirm this and then the old index will be saved as another page.

Hi Alec,

As Gop suggests, if your test page is in the same website, these are the steps you need to follow to copy a page. His steps are accurate for making that page your index page.

I'm slowly building up the courage to do this, one final query, will I need to relink from everywhere to the new index page.

Thanks again,

Alec

The links through your navigation menu are automatic unless you turn these off.

I transferred my new index to my 'experimental' page as per above and all went smoothly, thanks again for the help.

I want to redo another page named 'architectural services'

Will it be the same procedure i.e. when the 'experimental' page is finished, I rename it 'architectural services'

Regards,

Alec

That should work. It will tell you that there's already a page named that and do you wish to overwrite the old? The original will be lost by this procedure. If you wish to retain a copy of the original then duplicate it by using the Save As feature and give the Save As copy another name prior to over-writing your original.. Then go ahead with the over-writing. The duplicate will be safe as the saved as name.

Thanks again Gop.

I have now renamed successfully.

Like most things, it's simple when you you know how !
