If you need support from Yola please contact us via firstname.lastname@example.org or make use of our live chat service! We are working on a new approach to community-based support and during this transition period we are not adding any new threads to this forum. Many thanks to everyone who has participated over the years and we look forward to unveiling a new peer-to-peer support system soon!
I have some apps created with Visual Basic that I have been requested to share. I would like to put widgets on my web page that would allow visitors to download one of these .exe files to their computers.
There isn't a specific widget for this but that doesn't prevent you from doing as you wish. The issue is that the Yola Sitebuilder doesn't allow uploading or downloading .exe files for security reasons.
What you can do is host these files on another place and add a link, text or image, to the file on the hosting facility. I don't think that your users will need to make excessive clicks and hopefully a single click on your yola built site will initiate the download.
Google Drive allows access to files stored. You would need to set the file sharing to "Public" and you would need to convert them to .zip or .RAR file types, since .exe files are also not allowed by Google Drive.. Experienced users shouldn't have a problem with unzipping such compressed files for use.
