If I want to build several sites that all have basically the same information but are aimed at different parts of the country, can I just build one and then change the page headings and the URL to duplicate it for the other locations, or do I have to build each one separately?
This thread might help you out in copying the identical content from one site to the next and can effectively make it easier to make dozens or hundreds of identical (all but the name) websites. I have used it many times and it has worked flawlessly.
Just ensure that all your sites have the exact same images and files in their file managers before you begin. After step 8 in the following tutorial edit out any long form URL to ALL the images, files and URLs contained in the original code to the short form (resources/myfile.jpg), (myfile.js) or (mypage.php) URL then paste the edited code as shown in step 10
I have no doubt that once you get the hang of it the whole process will take you no time at all to create a copy of the original and replicate it as many times as you need.
As the text content from site to site may vary I would recommend using the tutorial to copy the top section and the bottom sections of the original website and then once you have the header and footer copied you can fill in the space in between to reflect the region that you are building the site for.
