We have a couple of websites on Yola and when we share the website addresses on Facebook there is no thumbnail or image that comes up. We do have an image on the website that is associated with us and would like it to come up when we share the link. Is this possible and if so can someone please let us know how to do it as we still can't work it after nearly a year! Thank you, Dawn and Stuart

Hello Dawn and Stuart

If you want Facebook to use images of your website when you post a link to your site, you will need to have these images in the body area of your website. It seems that Facebook doesn't display banner images of a site.

Everyhing else is on Facebook's side, and I'm afraid that Yola has no control over what they display. If you've added your images recently, Facebook will need a while to update their data of your website, and then display your images.

If you want me to check on my Facebook account, please let me know your URL, and which picture on that page you expect to see on Facebook. Thanks.

Hi Dawn and Stuart,

It seems Facebook by default uses the image / images which appear highest in the page. Make sure the image you wish to use appears at a point near the top of the page. The problem is, once Facebook has a cache of your site, even if you change the site / add / remove images, it may take a while for it to update. But don't despair, it will happen, it just may take a while!

Failing that, you can always give this a shot. Place the tag they refer to in the article in a HTML widget, at the top of your page.
