Not sure if this is a problem or the norm - but it seems to me that when I type in my web address and it's unpublished I shouldn't get a yola page saying the following:

Yola - stop browsing. start building

Your domain is pointing to Yola!
Now you just need to publish your site and you're done!
Here's what to do

1. Log into your account and open your site in the Sitebuilder.
2. If your site is unpublished, click on "Publish to the web" and then choose "I already own my domain name". Follow the steps until your site is published.
3. If your site is published to a subdomain, click on the down-arrow next to "Publish to the web" to open the Publishing Settings and publish your site to a domain you already own.

I thought I would get an html error or something, this isn't an error page it's an ad for yola using my webaddress? I have a silver account so I don't understand why this page poped up when I have taken my website offline for repairs.

Hi Hatcheck Girl

We used to have the normal browser error page but we got a ton of support queries from people who had pointed their domain to Yola but didn't realize that they still needed to publish their sites. So we opted to put up a custom 404 page with instructions on the next steps. We actually got the idea from another hosting service who did the same for their users, so it is a common practice. The result was far fewer support requests from confused and frustrated users.

Some domain registrars put up a page that is nothing but advertising. However, we really do not regard ours as an advert. Other than the Yola branding, all the copy on the page are instructions designed to assist people with getting their sites online.
