Wow! Your work is awesome. The site looks great, and I didn't notice anything missing except maybe a phone # and address, or a sign-up form for more info and updates. (you can see the form I made with the wufoo widget at http://guidographics.synthasite.com - under "contact info")

You have a few typos, though. I know when one is working on something for a while, it's hard to see them yourself. (I always get someone else to proof my brochures and ads for me - "fresh eyes" as they say)

Hope you keep updating as you do more carvings, as I'd like to see them.

Ciao, Guido

Well Duane I do believe you are off to a very good start..

I love your carvings and in my youth had dabbled in it myself so I do know how much effort it takes to do them.

As to your site I would make the paragraph structure more defined and with a space between each one. (To make it more eye appealing)

Your small photos I noticed are in in JPEG and over 100kb. I would say that it would be best to convert them into GIF and 100kb or under or set up a photobucket account and store them there in large JPEG form and use the code they provide to show the smaller images with the link attached already. For example see mine here:

http://honeybearplayhomes.synthasite....

that way your lovely pictures of your most detailed work can be viewed on everyone's screen fast instead of loading forever on the older computers

Gif photos always are more web friendly but JPEG has been my preference for quality and the example above has worked for my showing of JPEGs.

Just something to think about..

Good start my friend and just remember it can only get better with time and effort. With your talent to carve I am sure you will be teaching others how to make website soon enough...

I've got a little side project going here to get a visit from every country, and I don't have the U.K. yet. Please take a look at my site when you can and you'll put it on my map. Thanks. http://guidographics.synthasite.com

Duane,

Your work is stunning, and the site is nicely laid out. I see ed and Guido have given you some great advice too. You may wish to turn your email address into a link. Here is how to do that:

You can easily create a link to your email address with our link editor. When visitors click on this link an email will open up in their default email program with your email address already filled in.

Here's how to do it:
1. Drag and drop a text widget onto your page
2. Type the words you are going to use as your link such as "Email Me"
3. Highlight your email address
4. Click "insert link" on the text editing toolbar (this icon looks like three links of a chain and is located between the "font highlight" and "insert image" icons)
5. The link editor will open - enter your email address in the third block
6. Click on "ok"
