Hello Randy,
What I would suggest is that you possibly pull into your site one or two RSS feeds for Jazz blogs. You can find more information here: Adding an RSS feed.

Kind Regards,

Thanks Emmy!

I am desperately trying to make my site more visually appealing while keeping it as simple and lean looking as possible.

I only came up with one feed related to Jazz using the Widgetbox Gallery widget. It wasn't what I was looking for. Do you have any other sources I can look at Emmy?

Hi Randy,

I'm with Andi, I suggest looking for resources outside of the Widgetbox Gallery. Where do you currently go for Jazz news? Are there any websites or blogs that you enjoy currently with this type of content? You can grab the RSS feed from those resources and use it on your website. I think Google and friends that share your same passion might both provide some good insights as well!

That is also what I would say. Using the RSS feed is also more accessible and you can style using CSS if you wish!

Hope this helps.

Thanks Andi and Laura!

Once I find a feed I like, what do I paste into the HTML widget?

They should have a RSS button (It is orange - can not really miss it)

This should give you the necessary code. If not, ask the forum owner to give you the code needed.

Most blogs these days are on services like Blogger or Blogspot and it is really easy to get the code from them.

The other alternative, if they do not have RSS is to have an iFrame. You will need the blog owners permission though!

I hope these suggestions help!

Thanks Andi!

I finally found some code when I did a Google search for Jazz Widgets. I also moved some pages around as well. My nav bar is back to being horizontal (it was vertical before because I was display quite a few pages in my nav bar that when viewed horizontally they would wrap to the next line which looked pretty ugly. With some careful tweaking, I think the way I have it now seems to work well.

Before I had my Bennett Archives and In Transition Archives pages in my nav bar. Now, if you click on the Radio Shows page, you will see links to them from there. I did it this way because visitors who want to view and listen to my shows wil click on the Radio Shows link and then if they want to can listen to the archival shows as well by selecting one of the two links from that page. For me it seems to flow better than before. Comments?

You can take a look at my home page where I have the two widgets. What I am trying to do now is make my site more inviting while trying to maintain the simplistic look and feel. I would really appreciate any comments you have.

I was also thinking that if there is a way for me to put my shows into some kind of jukebox that would be really cool. Right now I have them listed using tables (all of my pages are done using tables except for the main page and the contact page.

Do you think there is a better place for me to post the design issues so that I can get more feedback from users on what my options are? I helped my sister in law get her site going but I soon found out that she was so good at designing the layout and feel of her site that I backed off and as soon as she gets back from Europe, I will ask her to give me some tips as well. Her site is www.slunderwine.com

My site is www.mcran.com
