My webstie is down due to a security issue you had a while back. How can I restore it? The domain is http://www.jessewrites.com. Please email acadianapa@gmail.com. Thanks!

Hello Jesse

Sorry to hear that your website was down! All you need to is change the A records to: 184.72.229.176. If you need steps on configuring your A Records, please see this tutorial: Publish to a domain name you already own.

Warm regards,
Sanja

Honestly, I'm trying to follow the ZoneEdit directions, and I'm clueless how to fix this. The directions don't line up with what I'm seeing, and I'm not web domain registration savvy. I originally purchased the domain from dreamhost, if that helps, but I no longer have any dealings with them. My domain was hosted by yola until the security problem reset everything. Now I'm clueless and my site is still offline.

Hello Jessie - the ZoneEdit instructions could be a bit out of date - I know they updated their interface recently. I'm going to try and create an account to get the new steps for you.

Thanks Marije...I think I used zoneedit originally to set it all up. I no longer use dreamhost for anything, but I guess they're my registrar, and I don't know how to change it with them to point to you. I'm not married to zoneedit; any way I can get my site back online would be great. Thanks!

Hi Jesse,
Marije was going to look into this, however she is not currently online to provide assistance.

I have taken a look at the WHOIS directory and do see that your name servers are currently using zoneedit name servers. Unfortunately because we are unfamiliar with zoneedit's environment it is hard for us to provide much in the area of support. Have you tried contacting zoneedit for assistance, possibly they will be able to help.

If you would like, one way to get this sorted would be to transfer your domain to Yola where we can be your domain name manager and provide you with all the domain name records needed to have your site published to your domain name. If that is something you would like to look into here is a link to a tutorial: Transfer your domain to Yola.

I will also forward this along to Marije to see if she had a chance to look into this. I would encourage you to consider the transfer option as this way we can provide you with all the support you need in terms of your domain name.

Hello Jesse,

I had to contact ZoneEdit for updated steps and here's what they've given me:

To add a new zone to your account:
1.) Login to your account and then click on the 'MEMBER CENTER' link towards the right of the window;
2.) Click the 'Edit Zones' link and then onto the 'Create New Zone' link;
3.) Enter the zone name in the pop-up window and then click on the 'Submit' button.

Here are the instructions for creating a new DNS record:
1.) Login to your account and click on the 'Edit Zones' link;
2.) Click on 'Edit Zone' next to the zone name;
3.) Enter the appropriate subdomain name in the Subdomain field, or enter a '@' to specify that the record should apply to the root domain;
4.) Select the record type from the drop down menu;
5.) Enter the desired TTL for the record;
6.) Fill out any additional fields that are presented;
7.) Click on the 'Save' link in the upper right corner of the screen;
8.) The changes will need to be published before they become active on the nameservers. Click on the 'Publish Changes' link.

If you're editing existing zones, you would find them in step 2 of the first set of instructions.

If you're still struggling, I can recommend that you contact ZoneEdit for further assistance: support@zoneedit.com.
