Hello smithy,
Thanks for letting us know this is something you are still interested in, we do take these requests into consideration when planning for the future. Unfortunately this is not something that is on our roadmap for the near future. I'm sorry I don't have better news for you.

Kind Regards,
Emmy

Please consider adding membership feature at earliest. you may even charge additionally for it - just give your customers a good option to develop there website. further, it is the second most requested feature at weebly, makes a lot of sense from competition point of view.

I have no doubt the kick-ass Yola engineers can do this! They are beyond talented enough to accomplish. Just a couple factors will limit the possibility of it happening soon:

First is $$$$ It will cost them a ton of money to undergo a project like this.
Resources; they may not have it at the moment.
Bugs/technical; they will probably have to many people get "confused" and it will be complicated. Which goes against Yola's slogan and motto.

Thanks for your vote of confidence lambofgod. Yes, our engineers are extremely talented! A project like this would require much on our end and it's just not something we are looking to do at this time. Hopefully in the future :)

This must be the most requested feature on Yola. I have been working flat out on a new "non Yola" site for a few weeks now and appreciate how hard this must be for the Yola engineers to accomplish for millions of users. It's hard enough to get set up properly on just one site.

The login script on my new site is working now and takes up 20 pages. It's more involved than most think. There's a signup, check user, send email (confirmation), activate account, thank you, forgot password, admin, ban user, logout and register page, to name but a few. You need to create a user database (Mysql) and create folders for each user to upload, edit and download data or images from.

Instead of the Yola engineers trying to accommodate a handfull of users with this feature, I think they would far sooner allow PHP uploads and Mysql databases and supply the login scripts for free.

I'm more in awe everyday of all the work and time that must have gone into creating the Yola site builder. Yola has made site building so easy that we expect more and more features all the time. People that need login scripts are more advanced users, and this does not fit the Yola plan, in my opinion. Not yet anyway?

I believe Yola should continue making the site builder the best out there. I have a few sites built with Yola and will continue to work on them. I just need this one site with login / membership capabilities to compliment my main site... http://travelsa.cc/
Users that are serious about login functionality should take the next step and learn PHP and Mysql.

I'll show off the new site soon, even though its not created with Yola... if that's ok?

Hey Boomer,
Thank you so much for your comment, we truly appreciate it. I could go on and on about how in awe I am of the work that goes into the Sitebuilder and keeping a massive amount of sites up and running on a daily basis... and I get to see it first hand!

Yes, member registration is definitely a feature that gets requested often, and if one day it becomes feasible for us to incorporate, I am sure it will be given lots of thought.

You are such an amazing asset to this community... please show us any site you are working on! We would love to see it :)

That's what I needed from Yola !.
I am currently using a third party , remotely hosted plugin to register my visitors , and it works properly.

If you like , I'd like to suggest these.

Ability to sign in with open IDs , like google, wordpress , aim ,....
Customizable questions at sign up.
Forum functions.

Here , I'd like to say,
using a open source or a 3rd party script for forums , chat , own blogs is great.
For a phpbb hosting intergration , phpbbhs.Com

or , what about other automatic script installer like fantastico , or softaculous..?.

I think that these will be a good point to think on.

Thanx.
