Just created my store! Here's my comments about the whole process

I just created http://pantysalad.yolasite.com and I think it looks OK, but here's my comments while making it.

It took me a day to write the software to generate the .TXT file of all my items to be imported. The process of importing was straightforward, and easy. I like how I can check/uncheck columns to be imported.

I really like how I can add items to multiple categories by having copies of the item (multiple rows) in my .txt file. It makes the "Category 1" and "Category 2" and "Category 3" columns of the imported txt file redundant.

Not sure what "recommended price" is. Personally, I'd love every price to be a million dollars.

Yola has a 30-day trial but the eCommerce part does not and I had to pay $30 for it

My GoogleCheckout gateway is giving me an error saying that the store is in Canadian dollars, but the GoogleCheckout currency is in USD. I can't find a place to change from CAD to USD anywhere on Yola or the eCommerce module

I found a way to manually provide options for each item, but could not find a way to provide options via importing a .txt file. The feature of being able to increase/decrease the price based on an option is nice, but I don't need it... all my items are the same price no matter what size is chosen. SO, it looks like I need to add 5 products if I have 5 different sizes of an item. They have different quantities, too (5 small, 10 medium, 5 large for example). It will look rather ugly on Yolo to see multiple versions of products. Please come up with some way to fix this!

I have 5300 different products but most have different sizes, so with Yola (by way of importing a .TXT file), this quickly balloons to 3X or 4X as many items. That's unacceptable since I cannot have more than 1000 items (with my silver account). 1000 items is not enough for me. I can only post about 400 different items.

Really glad you support my animated GIFs. Please don't take that away!

When importing a tab-delimited text file, I was getting an error that a row has the incorrect number of columns. It was because I have an item with a description of: "Little Star with a 12" train". The error is obviously because of the extra double-quote, but the file is TAB-delimited so you should possibly account for that when you find a new TAB

I clicked a button about 30 minutes ago to share my published site on Facebook, but still don't see anything. See my Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/pages/PantySa...

Hi Greg,

The recommended price is the selling list price and on top of this you have the ability to offer discounts in a few ways.

You can select currency by going into the (Online Store→Advanced options)→System settings→General→Formats & Units and from there select your Currency.

Options for products are easily handled using the Product Combinations feature

You can ask to extend your inventory database by sending an email to support@yola.com. I have 10,000 slots issued by Yola for this purpose.

The inserted " is best handled outside Yola/Ecwid with a global replacement command.

I have never investigated the upload facility for combinations but would be worth your while searching the Ecwid Forums for this suggestion. if it hasn't been proposed then you can add it to the area for development and it then is open for voting. The higher the votes the earlier or more certain the development

Glad it all went well and that you have moved so rapidly though this advanced process. Congratulations. Hoping that your customers will pay the millions within your wish list

Ok, I just asked for an increase because it's very difficult to work with just 1000 units. Thank you!

We received your request and let you know we'd follow up with you. Increasing your limit requires action from Ecwid so we appreciate your patience while we work with them.

Hi Greg,

Further to Gop's suggestion, I would also suggest visiting the Ecwid forums as the Ecwid developers are active on the forum and very open to optimization suggestions.

Please do mail us regarding your store limit. We'll be happy to help!
