I am having huge trouble editiing text within the text widget box, I am trying to add to a sentence which I have just put in, and everything has just gone dead. This seems to be a real flaw in Yola, it is so hard to edit. I have just changed to Foxfire after using IE. I asked a similare question before and was refered to Yola text editor, where is this? Also, how do I add a caption to a photo?

Hi, I get a bit frustrated with the editor too. The yola editor is at this link: http://html101.yolasite.com/

To add a caption either drag and drop a text box underneath a picture widget or in the text editor, insert a picture, highlight it and three extra boxes will appear at the far right of the text editor for wrapping text. There is one for text at the bottom of the picture. Note: these instructions are for the text editor in the sitebuilder not the one at the link above. That one is a little more complicated with a pop-up box where you can select how to wrap the text.

I hope this helps!

Thanks, I found the editor and it does seem to have solved my text issues. I will try it out for pics now. Yola is great but I am struggling a bit, still, I'm getting there.

Hello Steppingstones

I'm sorry to hear that you're feeling frustrated with using our Text Widget. If you are copying and pasting text from an external source or word processor - this too can cause trouble in your Text Widget as they have their own inherent formatting which can really create problems in your Sitebuilder.

It's always best to copy and paste text into Notepad or into the Yola HTML editor like you have just done.

As for your images with captioning, unfortunately, you cannot write directly on pictures in the Yola Sitebuilder. However, you can add text to your pictures using Picnik: a powerful image manipulation tool that Yola has integrated. Here is something you can try:

1. Upload the picture you want to use and in the File Manager, click "Edit Picture".
2. The Picnik image editor will load with your picture inside it.
3. When it is finished loading, click the "Create" tab.
4. Below the "Create" tab, click the second button from the left - which will give you the option to add text to your picture.
5. When you have added your text click the yellow "save to Yola" button in the top right hand corner of the Picnik dialog box.

You will then have a picture with text on it that you can display on your site.

I hope this information is helpful to you. If you have any further questions, please let me know.
