If you need support from Yola please contact us via firstname.lastname@example.org or make use of our live chat service! We are working on a new approach to community-based support and during this transition period we are not adding any new threads to this forum. Many thanks to everyone who has participated over the years and we look forward to unveiling a new peer-to-peer support system soon!
Link exchanges between sites are only really beneficial if they are between sites with related content.
So simply asking other Yola site owners to exchange links with you is not the best approach. Search engines may actually penalize you for too many links from unrelated sites.
The search engines use links to and from your site to determine whether you are an authority in your space and whether your content has value or not. As such you want other quality, related sites to link to you. The idea of a link on your site, is to point your visitors to another site that will add value for them. If you link to something they are not interested in and they click through to it, they are unlikely to return to your site.
For example if you have a site that sells clothing, it is not terribly valuable for you to get a site offering carpentry services to link to you.
I am aware that this forum is often used to seek out link exchanges, but this can easily become a little spammy, and is not very polite to customers who come here looking for help to build their sites.
If you know of another website (by a Yola user or someone else) that you think your site visitors would benefit from visiting, you could contact them privately and suggest a link exchange. However, please try to be sure that they would welcome the offer and not feel that they are being spammed.
