Hi Pavle,

Large companies leverage browser caching for huge sites that can be slow to load. This is not a service we offer and in reviewing your site, I don't think this is something you should be concerned about.

If page load times are something you want to improve, I can suggest this external tool which will grade your overall page speed and point out which images on your site need to be optimized.

I hope you find this helpful.

Hi,

Has this become more important in the last month or two as Google has changed it way of ranking pages?  when using the Google page speed insights tool the top thing it lists that I MUST fix is to leverage browser caching.  As I understand it your Google ranking is now affected by the quality and speed of your mobile site.  As you can see from the picture below the layout and sizing of links in my site is ranked almost perfect, yet the speed only scores 59% with browser caching being the top fix!

Although it was stated in the previous post that this was not necessary for small sites I cannot help but feel the situation has now changed.  The Google tool also lists browser caching as the top fix for my desktop site with it being the top factor contributing to a speed score of just 73%.

Will you re-asses the need for this now?

Hello Tiny Bag

What instructions does it provide when you click on "Show how to fix" below "Should Fix: Leverage browser caching"?

Hi Stefan,

Thank you for the reply.  See the screen shot below.  You may notice the scroll bar on the right hand side; if you scroll it down it covers most of the elements on the sites index page, including the site template css.

The link showing in purple above is here:

If you follow this link to google developers you can input any site you wish:

Thank you,

Matt

Hello Matt

Thanks for the information.  We have passed this on to our developers, and we will look into how we can leverage browser caching on our published sites in order to improve page speed, without negatively affecting users' ability to see changes after republishing their sites.
