Hi Larecruiter108,

Here's how to add links to your page:

1. Drag and drop a text widget onto your page.
2. In the text widget type the words that you want people to click on (this is your link text).
3. Highlight the link text and then click on the link button (it's the 10th button from the left in the text editing tool bar, and looks like the link in a chain).
4. A link editor dialogue box will open up and you will be given 4 options. You can link to an email address, an external URL, a page on your own site or a file on your computer.
5. Click on and edit the option appropriate for you.

You will then have a link on your page. To check that your link is working preview your page and then click on the link.

This is a brief explanation of how to add links, we have written a tutorial that shows the process in more detail. Here is the link: Creating Links -

Please let us know if you are still having problems with this.

I am currently working on my site and am having issues with this feature. I am attempting to link to another page on my site and while it works on most pages I have come across a page that it does not show up on. I have saved and republished but it does not appear. When hitting the refresh button in the editing part it gives me an error message of "invalid error component ID I59 cannot find component hotmail" The page I am attempting to link to is there and linking on pages after that does work.

Hi Teena,

Your problem is different to larecruiter108's question. You could receive a message like this "Invalid Component id '159'. Cannot Find Component HTML" if:

1) You have pasted some HTML onto your page that is not valid. This often happens if you accidentally miss a portion of the code and a tag is not closed.

2) You have copied and pasted some text from MS Word that has introduced problematic HTML or CSS. The best way to avoid this is to first copy and paste into a program like Notepad (in the Accessories folder of your computer) This will strip out any unwanted formatting and you can then safely paste into the text widget.

3) You have edited two sites at the same time in different tabs or browsers and content from one has been applied to the other. This is a known issue on our side and we are working on a solution for it.

If you get a message like this, hold down the escape key until it goes away. Then try to delete any widget that you think might contain problematic HTML or text copied and pasted from MS Word.

If this does not work, unfortunately you will have to rebuild the page. One thing you can do is save a copy of your pages by clicking on the drop down arrow next to the "save" button and selecting "save page as". This will give you a back up version of your page in case something goes wrong.

Remember to untick the box that says "include in menu" so that the back up page does not appear in your main navigation. We are working on solutions for all three of these scenarios to prevent problems of this nature in future.
