Linking is not working .....It won't let me highlight text to link  Anyone have any ideas what is wrong? Thanks!

Hello Tapestry2u,

I am sorry to hear you are having some issues with this and would like to assist. If your site is published, could you please share the domain name (URL) with us?

It is our job to make sure you can use the tools in the Sitebuilder effectively and I'd like to offer some suggestions that may solve the problem you are having:

  1. Try clearing your cache. Here is a link with information on how to do this: Clear Your Browser's Cache.
  2. Make sure you are using an updated version of your browser.
  3. Try using a different browser such as Chrome or Firefox, as these browsers seem to work best in the Yola environment. Both are free to download, if you'd like to try them: Download Chrome or Download Firefox. Please note that although we find these browsers work the best, we can support you if you are using another browser as well.
  4. Please check to see that you have the latest version of Flash installed, for more information please click here: Version Test for Adobe Flash Player.
  5. Please try using a computer on another network.

We did not receive your initial reply on this post though so I am wondering if perhaps you had a spotty internet connection that prevented it from posting?

Thanks for sharing your website ulr. This allowed me to access your site in your Sitebuilder and I was able to add links to your 'Links' page without any issues. Because your Sitebuilder is working as it should for me, I feel this problem is local to either your computer or your network.

One of the most important suggestions on the list I sent you is to try to load your Sitebuilder from another computer that is connected to a different network as this will be very telling of where the problem is located.

Have you had a chance to go to a friends place or a internet cafe to see if you are able to add a link to your text? If not, please make every effort to do so.

Then, please visit whatismybrowser.com and send us a screen shot of what you see. Very often these problems only occur in a very specific browser/operating system combination or are affected by certain add-ons you have installed in your browser. This makes it extremely difficult for us to solve, but providing the information fromwhatismybrowser.com often helps us get to the bottom of things.

Once we have this information, we will be able do testing on our side and assist you further. We are committed to resolving this issue and greatly appreciate any information you can provide in helping us figure out what is making you unable to edit your page.

Hi Saskia,
 I'm sure you're right.  It is likely a setting on my laptop so hoping you're able to help.  I have Chrome as my main browser and Chrome does not support Java.  So I switched over to IE 11 which is Java enabled and tried there with no success.  I've enclosed a couple screen shots of the page you suggested I go to.  I hope you're able to find something that clues in on the problem.  Thanks so much!

Thanks for sharing those screenshots. One last suggestion is to try disabling any browser add-ons you may have installed, testing linking, and then re-enabling them one by one to see if one of them is the culprit. This is a long shot as you indicate you've tried different browsers but I think it's still worth a shot. Let us know if that helps!

Hi Laura,
 I tried your suggestion and also removed disable right clicks from my page then rebooted.  It worked!  I'm finally able to highlight text and link pages on my site.  Thank you so much for your help!
