linking other sites via password protected page

I have a page that is on the public portion of my web site which is password protected. Once someone enters an assigned password into that page, I want to have them immediately directed to another website which is not being hosted by Yola yet. Eventually I do plan to move the site but until such time - i need to know how to set this up so it works. The other service wants huge bucks to do this, but I my gut is telling me it's not that complex and I should be able to do it myself. I just need to know how and what I need from them to get this done.

How can I link the two sites together so that once someone enters the pswd on my yola site they are auto directed to the other site immediately and that site pops up?

Hello Hatcheck Girl

I suggest setting up a redirect on that page. Here's how:

1. Drag and drop a HTML Widget onto your page.
2. Paste this tag into the HTML Editor:
<meta http-equiv="refresh" content="2; url=;>

"2" is how many seconds it waits before it redirects - you can change this number.
"url" is the URL it redirects to, so, replace the URL in the above tag with the one for the site you want to link to.

Please be sure to start with a higher number of seconds to ensure that the redirect works properly. Otherwise, it may redirect too quickly for you to fix up later as it redirects in your Sitebuilder.

Please let me know if you have any trouble with this.

If it's that simple then my next question is this? Can i just host the other website on Yola now? I know I can do this with a transfer but can backups be done for this site through my own yola account? How much more difficult would that be to set up? Your response was so simple I knew 100 bucks for someone to "Integrate" the two sites was more than just a tad off the mark.

GOWD I do love Yola! More and more each day. Thank you Sanja!

Hello Hatcheck Girl,

You can definitely host your external site through Yola by transferring your domain to us, though unfortunately it is not possible to upload a previously built site into the Yola Sitebuilder. For a site to work on Yola it needs to be built using the Sitebuilder tools.

Yola offers a free hosting and an excellent site building tool if you would like to give it a try. You can see a full list of our tutorials which will step you through various aspects of building a site with Yola, here: Yola Tutorials, or you can watch some video tutorials about using Yola here:">Yol....

Please let me know if you need further assistance!

Brianna I have a site now on Yola. I'm trying to allow users to access the other site via a portal through yola. Obviously the site will still be hosted by the other service provider and not here, so I need to know how to set that up. I am going to try Sanja's suggestion.

Trust me if this doesn't work yo'all will be hearing from me again!
