I want to create a link to some of my pages, but dont want to add them on my Menu bar.

For example I have a gallery but i want to put them each into a sub category.

Do I create each page on its own (with the respective images) and then on the main page "Gallery" just add in the hyperlink. i.e type in www.ruanphotography.synthasite.(whatever is standing in the webbar at the top for the specific page) and it would automatically create it?

I think im making this harder than it seems hope you understand me =P

You can definitely create sub-pages. Here is a quick overview on how to do this:
1. Create the pages you need. When you create the page untick the "include in menu" box so that these pages won't be automatically added into your main navigation menu. If you didn't untick the "include in menu" box and would like to take them out of the menu, simply click on "Edit menu" and drag-and-drop the pages you don't want in the menu into the panel on the right hand side. Do the opposite to include them in the menu again.
2. Now that you have your content, you need to link it all up. You can create the links using the text editor widget.
- drag a text widget onto your page and click to edit it.
- Type the text which you want to link to the sub-page.
- Highlight the text, and from the text editor tool bar, click the link button (10th from the left next to the image button).
- Click on the "..." button next to "page". It should give you a list of all the pages you have just created.
- Choose the relevant page and click "OK" and you will have a link to this page.

For detailed instructions and a working example, please click on the following link: http://www.synthasite.com/tutorials/c...

You can also add sub-page links to images:
1. Add the image to your page, using the image widget
2. Click on Properties on the right-hand sidebar
3. Click on 'Choose a Link' and make your selection
4. Click on Apply
5. To check that your link is working, preview your page and then click on the link.

Great got that one covered thanks, next question =) Does Widget have any interesting galleries.

I have used widget (flickr) but the problem is that it only uses your main gallery (because of typing in a email adress rather than the url).

I have different sets of photos that I wish I could link seperately through the gallery,is it possible?I was thinking of just dragging the images but I like the whole feel of clicking on the image and it opens through a java window (enlarging the image a bit as well).

Hope this makes sense through bad grammar and all =P

Hi Spazzimus

The Flickr Lightbox widget allows you to quickly and easily create a slick photo gallery with thumbnails that link to larger images. Here's how it is done:
1) In the Content sidebar in SynthaSite, open the Photo Gallery folder
2) Drag and drop a Flickr Lightbox widget onto your page
3) In the properties sidebar: enter your Flickr account email address (usually a Yahoo! address) in the email address field
4) In the "Photo Count" field, enter the number of images you want to display.
5) In the "search" field, enter the tags of the photos you want to pull from Flickr (make sure you have added tags to your Flickr photos or you will not get the desired resultl)
6) Specify how many columns you want for your photo gallery
7) Click on the Image Size drop down menu to select: small square, thumbnail or medium sized images.
8) Finally, choose between a "modern" and a "plain" style for your photo gallery images.
9) Click the Apply button to update your photo gallery.

All done! Now save and preview your page. You will have a gallery of clickable images. In the top right hand corner of the large view of the images, click the "next" button to view the next image in the gallery. Click the "close" button when you are finished browsing through your gallery.

Note: If there are privacy settings on your Flickr photos the search will not be successful. The photos need to be publicly available for it to work.

Hi Spazzimus,

Not quit sure of the look you trying to achieve, but you can
have sets of photos, ore even one photo per "hidden Page"

Just create links from your home page or gallery button
to these "hidden pages" or to your Flicker account.

Have you looked at some of the websites featured here.
http://forsite.synthasite.com/

Take a look at Photography books, Hodnett photography,
Dtours and the gallery section of Honey bear playhomes.
Hope this helps.
