Excuse my ignorance (new boy in Yola town !) - but is it possible to link directly to an external URL from one of the "menu bar" headings ?

Hi MossleySmiffy,

Thanks for your question and welcome to Yola! We are happy to see you engaging in our community forum.

It is possible to cause your menu link to redirect automatically to an external URL if you are prepared to use a bit of custom HTML.

Here's what you need to do:

1. Create a new page with the name of the site you want to link to.
2. Drag and drop a HTML Widget onto your page.
3. Paste this tag into the HTML Editor:
<!--meta http-equiv="refresh" content="2; url=http://webdesign.about.com"-->
(remove the <!-- and --> when pasting the tag into your HTML editor)

Please note:
* "2" is how many seconds it waits before it redirects - you can change this number. Since the page will redirect in your Sitebuilder, we recommend using a higher number to ensure that it works correctly as the page may redirect too quickly for you to make changes.

* "url" is the URL it redirects to, so, replace the URL in the above tag with the one for the site you want to link to.

Please let us know if you struggle with this, we will be happy to help you further!

Thanks very much for the swift reply ! You were certainly right about changing the number to something higher - 2 seconds made editing the page to add some text (as in "Redirecting - Please Wait ...") somewhat tricky !! I got there in the end though

Thanks again

Mike
