Hi All
At the moment I am using the BareNecessities style
All my links are in the left hand but have only used a small part of the space
Is it possible to use this space for text or images, if so how
Many thanks

Hello Steve3333,

The placement of the menu is set by the style and unfortunately the area not used by the menu cannot be added to. Possibly you would like to look through our other styles as there might be one that suites you better. Here is a link to our Style Guide: Yola Style Guide. I hope you will be able to find a style that you like!

Kind Regards,
Emmy

You can use the margins to move things over--go under Properties and put in a negative number on the left margin.

On one of my templates (I think it was No Frills) when I deleted the menu entirely it adjusted the main area to extend all the way over so there wasn't a blank spot where the menu normally is. If this is the case with every template, then you'll have no problems.

What I suggest, create a separate blank page and title it "main template"... use a page layout option 2 column right or 2 column left. Place a custom menu in the smallest side of the page and add all your stuff that will show on every page... analytics if you use those, advertisements, etc... after you do this, whenever you wish to create a new page, open your "main template" page and save page as - it'll create a likeness of that page, making placement of everything easier. Advertisements will be there, menu will be there, analytics will be there... makes things easier.

Just to clarify, if you delete the menu that comes with the style by remove the pages, you won't be able to put a custom menu in the exact position of the menu of the style as this area is set by the CSS of the style. If you would like to create a custom menu, you can remove your pages for the menu by clicking on the "Edit Menu" button and dragging the pages from "In Menu" to "Out of Menu".

Here is a link to a site created by some great Yola users with various custom codes, including custom codes for menus, if you would like to take a look: Yolacodes.yolasite.com.
