I just went to your live site and all 6 of the pages in your main menu loaded quickly for me and I was able to navigate between pages without a problem. The slowest elements to load are your slideshows, but even they were not particularly slow.

Just to be clear, do you get this problem on your live site, or when you open your site in your SynthaSite account to edit it? Also, please tell me what browser and browser version you are using.

I hope we can figure this out!

In synthasite it loads, but I am seeing a flash of the tabs in blue on the top left of the page verticaly, instead of where they belong when I change pages. In firefox 3.0.1, it wont load at all

also... The problem started after I ran the "check site speed" link in your help section. Could that have affected anything?

A speed test should not have affected your site in any way at all.

I am also running Firefox 3.0.1 and I don't see the problem you describe.
What operating system are you on?

I hope others will check your site and let us know what they see.

Anyone able to see the problem with the Guido Graphics site?

just tried several other sites... all loading at normal speeds. My main page loads normally in synthasite, but still real slow in firefox, and will barley change to sub-pages, or not at all.

Hello,
Do you still seem to be having the slow load time? I took a look at myauntcameback and it didn't take as long as you were seeing, but wasn't super duper snappy either. Let us know what you are seeing right now. Can you also give it a try in another browser as well. Thanks!

Oh Emmy, mine is doing great. I was checking out Guidos for him. I have to say that I do believe this is another firefox update issue. It is not major but it did start happening again after I allowed an update from them.

Hi Leo

I can see the problem with your site. The manifestation of the problem might seem the same in that the loading time is slow, but I don't think the cause is the same for you and Guido.

Can you tell me if you have any high resolution images on your site. Web friendly images should be between 20 and 100KB. If your images are much larger than that this could case the loading problems you are experiencing. You can check on the size of your image by opening your file manager in the SynthaSite site builder.

The parts of your site I was able to see look very good. We just need to make sure that it loads properly.

Just went to leo's site. Same thing... loads slow, slow to change page, and upon a second try to change pages, I get a solid white screen when it finally stops loading.

Yes, it took forever to load each page GG, however, I did NOT get a white screen. I tested your site in IE7 and FF3. Site works but it is a bit slow.

BTW, I am running Vista Premium.

Hi Monique,

I took your advise and removed a 234KB high resolution photo, but that didn't help. Hopefully, the engineers can fix the problem.

Thanks
Leo

What I've also been noticing is that the site that is loading, sometimes seems to go from a "640 x 480" type (6x4) resolution to a wide screen (6x9) format.
Its only done it a few times though, could be on my side.
I dunno maybe it helps your guys.

just got back and checked mine... still loading slow, and upon 2nd page change, (I tried my "links" page) the page gets rearranged, with empty space in the center, the photos on the outside edges, and the tabs show as a list on the top left side, not as tabs, and not across the page

I am having problems loading a particular page in synthasite - it won't load at all - and just has the loading page. I need to update the page so tried doing save as and changing the file name but still the same thing. Anyway I get around it without having to retype everything?

Hi Shazzy

You know I used to get that all the time and had come to the realization that in most cases the exact thing you described was due to my computer being over worked by other resource hungry programs. Now I am not saying it is for certain the same as yours but please do try to close all other programs and open only Firefox and your Synthasite editor.

If that fails then try to refresh your page and or clear your cache and then try to reopen your editor.

It also sounds like you may have overloaded that particular page with a hog or hogs of widgets or features... By hog I mean a feature that is either too large in size or due to it being hosted out of Synthasite servers and because of the feature host server being down it complicates page load. I have had that happen several times and yes it did affect editor page load.

I do however get this little birdy in my ear saying close all unnecessary resources/programs and try again... P.S. Skype or any messaging program eats up resources ;)

Try those and if all else fails do the following...

1) Open your problem page in your browser
2) Right click on the page
3) Click "View page source"
4) In the pop up window right click
5) Click "Select all"
6) Right click
7) Click "Copy"
8) Open Wordpad
9) Right click in the blank document
10) Click "Paste"

With the information now contained in the Wordpad you have access to all the widget codes and content if you need to rebuild your page.

Additionally, I would as well open your problem page in your browser and then

1) Right click on the page
2) Click "Save page as"
3) In the pop up box (Save as type) drop down box ensure that it says "Web page complete"
4) Name your page
5) Click "Save"

By doing this you have access to all your written content so that you don't have to rewrite all the text. You simply:

1) Highlight the desired text on your webpage or saved complete webpage
2) Right click and click on "Copy"
3) Open a new Wordpad document
4) Then right click and click "Paste"
5) Then save

With this document you can easily copy and past from Wordpad into your new page if you need to recreate it.

I am entirely tooooooo tired, my eyes are watering and I hope that made sense...

Going to sleep now

Good luck and good site building
Ed

Please note to all other readers that certain steps I outlined above are only for the person who owns the website to do. If any other individual was to follow and do them to a site owned by another it would in fact constitute copyright and or trademark infringement.

Just thought to pass that along ;) ;) ;)
