Hi Donald,

Does this happen when you try to open an existing site or create a new site?

Could you try these steps as well:
1. Logout of Yola, restart your browser and login again.
2. Check to see if you are having problems with your network or internet service provider.
3. Clear your browser's cache. This link has more information: http://www.wikihow.com/Clear-Your-Bro...
4. Try loading the site in a different browser (eg. Firefox, Safari, Internet Explorer).

neither... I closed the site I had open and immediately it asked if I wanted to try Yola Pro and when I clicked No Thank You it says, "loading yola..." ... I'll try the steps above.

Have you tried refreshing, I usually get that in other sites but a refresh brings it back.

yea, refreshing don't do anything but take unnecessary time and same problems exist.

there's some kind of error on that page or interference between my connection and that page. I hit the back button to go to the site I was working on, then I clicked the down arrow next to "current site" and switched sites that way. I bypassed the page asking to buy Pro and I was successful in getting to my site. Just to test if this could be a yola problem... someone else should close their current site by clicking the X Close and then clicking no thank you about yola pro and see if the same problem exists with them.

Donald, I'm confused - at no point do I get a window asking me to upgrade to Yola Pro. These are the steps I'm following:
1. Login to Yola.
2. Open site in the site builder and it loads.
3. Make changes, update and click on "Close"
4. The My Sites page opens.

Could you let me know where you get the window to upgrade opening up?

really? I did... if you already have it, then it probably won't ask you. This is before you get to your sites, I get the message. it asks me if I want to switch to Yola Pro like immediately from logging into yola

ok, that's weird, it's not asking me to buy it anymore. Maybe the technicians have it set up to randomly ask you to "promote" yola pro!?

Does yola pro offer your own domain or is that separate?

Hi Donald - You do not get a custom domain with Yola Pro. More information on this link: http://www.yola.com/customer-support/...

Does changing from a sub domain to a main domain register as "a different site"? Another words, if switching, does it put you back at square one with the search engines and rankings?

When you switch your domain over to a newly built site, that does not completely remove the old site from the search engine's index. What will happen over the next few weeks to few months is that the search engine will return to your domain and see that the content has changed, it will throw out the old, and update its index with the new. This will be done gradually and you can expect the indexing to take anywhere from a few weeks to a few months.

You can keep your current domain and publish your site to a new one which means that your site is still accessible on the old address but redirects to the new one. You will have to reverify with Webmaster, Analytics etc.

Yea, I wasn't talking about keeping the same domain and changing its contents. I was talking about keeping the contents and changing the domain - from a subdomain to a custom domain example.example.com to example.com - do the search engines recognize it as a different site?

Hi Donald,
Yes, the search engine will look at domain mysite.com as being a different than mysite.yolasite.com. The same information as Marije gave you will apply though.

When you change your domain name, Google will come to your site and see that the old yolasite.com domain is now redirecting to another domain; if you publish to a custom domain from Yola, we will automatically 301 redirect your yolasite.com subdomain to your new custom domain.

It is somewhat like starting over because Google is not yet familiar with the "new domain". It will take some time for Google to remove your old yolasite.com subdomain from its directory, and replace it with your new domain. The good news is that because your yolasite.com subdomain will redirect to your new custom domain, you won't loose any traffic.

You will also want to reverify your new domain with Google Webmaster (remove the old code, register the new domain, put in the new code), and you will also need to redo the Google Analytics.

ok... so according to the search engines the sub domain will have its same rankings and possibly move up the rankings while the new custom domain will start from scratch and could possibly take weeks or even months just to get indexed? That's a pain, but I suppose since yola redirects from subdomain to custom domain you'll still get traffic from the search engines because of your subdomain.
