Login Problems in Internet Explorer

  • Announcement

We have become aware that users in Internet Explorer could be experiencing one of two problems:

1) You may not be able to log into your account.

2) You may not see your sites on the "My Sites" page. In order to correct this problem, you need to clear your cache. (See: http://www.wikihow.com/Clear-Your-Bro... for instructions if needed.)

If you are experiencing the above your browser is remembering incorrect details that need to be cleared out and this should correct the problem.

If you are still unable to log in or see your sites, please email support@synthasite.com

Hi Monique,
I reported a problem last December under the thread "Can't open my site to maintain it" which I still get intermittently and occurred again yesterday. The message "Your session has expired. Please login again to renew it" appears after clicking the button to enter my site. At the time you advised setting the Internet Options to always allow cookies for Synthasite, which appeared to improve the problem, but in fact it hasn't gone away. Even clearing cache does not fix it. I just have to wait for an hour or so and eventually I can get in.
Cheers,
Andy.

Hi Andy
I am not sure if this is exactly the same thing, but it certainly sounds related. I will ask engineering if this is also a caching issue. If it were, clearing your cache should fix it though. Can you send us a screenshot of the error you get?

Hi Monique,
Here is the screen shot.
When I click on the button to enter my site to maintain it, it rarely just loads. Normally I get a blank screen with the "Done" Explorer message at the base and the "synthasite loading" message still running. Then I refresh the screen and usually it loads. Occasionally, I get the message shown on the screen shot and then neither clearing cache or closing and re-opening the browser lets me back in.

P.S. Let me know if there is a better way to add attachments to these messages: I had to convert the screen shot from a bitmap because it exceeded 2MB.

As ever I really appreciate the response you give to my issues.
Cheers,
Andy.

Hi Andy

Thanks for posting the screenshot. I am going to pass this information on and get back to you if I can find anything out. The problem you are experiencing is different from what I was describing but I would like to find out what is causing it.

Here is a useful article on taking screenshots in Windows: http://www.wikihow.com/Take-a-Screens...

The default option in Paint is to save the image as a .bmp, which is uncompressed. However, some versions allow you to save as a .jpg or a .png - try one of those formats and you will get a more manageable image.

Hi Terrence. I am sorry about that. Can you post the URL of your site so that we can check it out and help you get to the bottom of the problem?
