Hi Damager,
This is still in the thinktank. I know that Yola have heard the request and I'm sure they're considering it. At the moment it's not yet available
You're aware that there's a password facility? on any page or as many pages as you want?

Hello,
If you want to collect information from your visitors in order to provide them with the password for a password protected page, then you may wish to add a form to your site.
In order to put a form on your site click on the widget toolbox at the righthand side of the screen, and then click on the "Forms" folder. We have integrated with two great services that allow you to create custom forms for your site: Wufoo and Form Assembly. Both services offer free and paid plans, so you can select the one that is right for you.
These are the steps for adding a form:
1. When you drop a form widget on your page, a dialogue box will open up. Click on the link in the bottom right hand corner and you will be taken to the form service.
2. Sign up for an account and create your form.
3. When you are done click "Get Code."
4. Copy the HTML code (use Ctrl-C or highlight with cursor > right-click > copy) and paste it into the Yola dialogue box that opened when you dropped the widget (use Ctrl-V or right-click > paste to paste the code)
That's it, you will have your own custom form on your site and your responses will be managed in your Wufoo or Form Assembly account.
You can edit your settings on Wufoo or Form Assembly so that the information completed on your form is emailed to you, or you can visit your account to get the information on any forms completed.
Please let us know if you need help adding password protection to your pages, or if this is not what you had in mind.

Unfortunately we don't have a member register and login feature yet, but we hope to add it in future. We know that many people would like to have people register for accounts and have logins for their sites. We will need to do quite a bit of development to make this possible, so please be patient while we work on this.
This might not be quite what you had in mind, but you might want to try using Google Friend Connect http://www.google.com/friendconnect/. You can find information on how to add it to your site on this thread on our forum http://getsatisfaction.com/yola/topic....
Please let us know if this service meets your needs or if you have additional requirements as this will help inform our planning.

Hey Ruth,
Is there possibly a way that u's(bad grammar!) could stick/pin a topic about logins to the top of the topics page so there won't be any more repeats?

Connor, I'm not sure what you are referring to. Do you mean duplicate comments, or duplicate topics?

One topic explaining that login is not available permantently pinned to the top of the topics so to stop duplicates of the same topic. Just a suggestion!

It's a good idea. I'll have to investigate to see if Get Satisfaction can support 'sticky' topics.

i agree that they should make a user / password system for yola websites. because me and my friends are starting a game company i and i want them to have there own logins not all have to use the same one like they do in the password protecting feature.

Hello Mitchell,
It would help Yola and other users f you could define exactly how you would envisage using a login facility. Exactly what do you wish and how do you see it functioning?

I see it working like this:
People would be able to log in as them selves with their own user name and password of course.
certain people who i would add to a certain group of users would be able to see certain pages that the public would not be able to see. like meeting times email pages stuff like that.
and people who are not working for me would be able to make an account and sign up for things like news letters and game updates. kind of like EA and Microsoft do.
i hope that helps

That's a really good description of your needs. Yola have asked a few times for people to say what they want from this facility so with an answer like yours it gives good points to consider.
Very well written. Thanks Mitchell.

Hi Mitchell,
Yes, thanks for providing that description. As Peter said, this feature is in the thinktank and our team is considering it along with other developments to the site builder.
Kind Regards,
Emmy

It's not possible to upload files to the site builder which utilize various programming languages, although it is possible to use the html widget to put snippets of code such as javascript or html on your page. Hope this helps.
