We have a cooking site, a fairly large one and I want to change each blog title to an h1. Is this possible?

Hello Davidjohnhood,

At the moment your blog titles are H2 - I am consulting with our code team to see if it is possible to change them to H1.

I will let you know as soon as I hear back from them.

Thanks because we are getting penalized by webmaster tools for having duplicate H1 tags. The more blogs we make within a category, the more duplicates we have.

Hi davidjohnhood

I am on the HTML team and I can take a look at this for you. There might be a way to add an H1 tag with CSS. Would you mind sharing the URL of your site?

I'll let you know if it's possible.

Thank you
Nazlie

Thank you for posting your URL. I looked at the code, but there is no way to change the headings your blog to H1. Sorry that I do not have better news for you about this.

I have to say this is really frustrating as I looked at my GWMT again and the number of duplicate tags just keeps continuing to increase. Believe me, I have tried everything from deleting the title of the blog category to having no tags at all. Why can't Yola just create a way to make my own H1, H2, etc.? I have been looking at other host and it can been done with ease.!

I understand the position of Yola, in terms of trying to make the tagging easy for beginners, but you have to understand my position as well.

I have had an excellent experience with Yola and they have provided great customer support. I really don't want to change hosts.

Our blog titles are our page/window titles and that is a very good thing...What is happening (and this has been a concern of mine also ) is that the meta description defaults and duplicates your meta description from you main blog page. Each blog post ends up being a url of its own and I also wish we could take better advantage of that for SEO reasons.

Thanks for you reply, John. We have gutted this to the point there is not much left but an H2 tag which is the blog post title. The blog post title should be the H1. This is the way it is with other blog hosts.

You know, Yola should try and please its current customers rather than attracting new ones. I realize this is a delicate balance.

I can honestly say that many of the improvements over the years I have used Yola have started as ideas on this forum...It does make a difference when enough site owners want something changed or added. Then you have to account for some that don't like change at all...Yep sort of a balancing act.

Perhaps creating an advanced option might be an answer. I might be out of my league but is publishing the Yola in different languages really a priority? Perhaps being too critical.
