Hi there, i am currently on the Silver package. I have purchased one primary domian and yola mail and this is my primary site. I have now purchased another domain that I would like to manage but would like it to be a site completely separate from my current site. How do I set up the second domain completely on it's own. I still have to use my first site's log in details to get into the second sites info. I have not published the second sites info as yet because i'm not sure how it will affect the primary site. In fact I don't want it to affect the primary site. Please help. Thanks!

Hello Lei Ling,

Your Yola account can manage multiple site files and these are all independent. The Yola Sitebuilder for your account has the one login but this doesn't affect the indepdence of the published site.

You really only have to publish new sites to other domains within your Yola account and there won't be any negative impact or in fact any impact at all to any and all your published sites..

Hi Gop,

I want to publish the second site as a primary site and want to keep the first site as a primary site too. I do not want the second site to link to the first. How do i do that?

I understand from what you are saying is that you have 2 sites; examples

myiphone16z.com

lipstickonyurcollar.co.uk

Both these are primary sites and are created within your My Yola account as 2 separate sites. They are independent, they are not linked in any way.

is this what you mean?

yes that's correct. I purchased xyz.com a few months ago and today i purchased abc.com

I clicked on 'Add new domain' under the Domain tab (keep in mind I am currently logged into the primary domain I purchased a few months back). I then selected the name and purchased it. It's now showing up under the domain tab under custom domains.

When I click the domain name and brings up this info:
"(Log into your account and open your site in the Sitebuilder. If your site is unpublished, click on "Publish to the web" and then choose "I already own my domain name". Follow the steps until your site is published. If your site is published to a subdomain, click on the down-arrow next to "Publish to the web" to open the Publishing Settings and publish your site to a domain you already own.)"

Firstly i'm already logged in, secondly i cannot go to sitebuilder because it brings up this info when clicking on the domain name. If i click on Advanced settings I can't do anything there as that's note want I'm wanting to do.

So to clarify. What I want to do is manage two domains separately from my Yola account and i want them each to be the primary site of that domain when I click on it. If i click on the domain name it should bring up www.xyz.com and if I click on the other it should bring up www.abc.com in the top search bar where you normally search for a website. I do not see options to build the second site from scratch like I did the first and to publish it as a separate domain. Hope you understand what I'm trying to say?

OK.

From the top.

Open the file that you wish to publish say to http://www.xyz.com/ then Publish to the web. Select your domain www.xyz.com. Publish and that should be it.

Similarly open the second site file and do similarly for your second site/domain and you will ahve both sites published. If this causes issues log out and log back in for the second domain.

I don't think you're understanding what I'm trying to say. i've logged out and logged in again. If I click on the new domain I wish to publish it brings me to the info I indicated above re: "(Log into your account and open your site in the Sitebuilder. If your site is unpublished, click on "Publish to the web" and then choose "I already own my domain name". Follow the steps until your site is published. If your site is published to a subdomain, click on the down-arrow next to "Publish to the web" to open the Publishing Settings and publish your site to a domain you already own.)"

I know how to save and publish to the web with my current site but there is NO OPTION to do so with the new one and when it's published will it stand on it's own as a site? And will I then manage these two sites from my current Yola account?

Maybe I should wait until tomorrow and see if anything changes on the site. I did purchase the domain today and not sure if that could have an effect on all of this.

Hi Gop,

I figured it out i think. When logging in, you get to the My Yola page. On the right it gives you the option to 'Select site'. Once you click on the drop down button the primary site only shows and the second option is 'Creating a new site' then it opens up Sitebuilder and allows you to select your new domain once you've finished design it and want to publish it. I'll see if I can figure out the rest re: the site operating on it's own and hopefully not affecting the current primary site. Once the second site is published will I be able to manage both sites independantly?

Yes. many users have multiple sites in their Yola account and all the sites are independent.
