Can I place a simple clickable link on my old (highly ranked) site that directs traffic to my free yola site or does one need to purchase a package to exercise this privilege. Thx

Hi,

This is a good idea. A well ranked site can often pull an emerging site up by the bootstraps as it develops and becomes recognised.

The following suggestions will work on any Yola sitebuilding plan/subscription and you don't specifically need a paid subscription for these to work.

A simple clickable text link can be produced by a couple of ways. The very straight forward use of HTML, such:
<a href="http://website.com/page">Your text to link here</a> is the outline of the code.

You can also use a text widget offered in the site-builder and there you will see a link icon which is used specifically for this purpose.

There is a great tutorial on this topic within the Yola library: I want to add links to other sites, how do I do that?

Finally you can cone the link even further to a specific location on a referred to site page by using anchors and here is another tutorial covering this process: Tutorial: Creating HTML Anchor Links
