Mapping Yola domain to Bluehost

I have a Yola website (www.foodpantrysolutions.com) and I want to create a new Wordpress website using the same domain name. I have hosting through Bluehost, and have changed the DNS settings to point the domain to the new host. When these changes went into effect, the Yola website stopped working.

Also, I installed Wordpress into a temp directory (www.foodpantrysolutions.com/wptemp) hoping that I could work on the new site while keeping the old one active.

Any ideas why the old site isn't working?

Hi FP,

One domain cannot be active at more than one place or publish more than one site at a time. By pointing your site to another host then in effect you are pointing it away from Yola.

If you wish to keep your existing site published until you have completed your WP site, then you would point the domain at the time you wish to publish your new site. So for the time being you could remove the name-servers (or the A records) from your DNS manager. That should bring it back to Yola and then you could republish your Yola site to that domain again.

Thank you. I was able to get help from Bluehost. I have a temporary URL to use while working on the new site.
