Hiya, as a work around to the lack of unique member login functionality, i am attempting to create 150 different sites with unique passwords, then linking them all to one common gateway site? is this viable? or atleast until Team Synth add this functionality!? props once again to the heros/ins over @ the synthasite crew ;-) !!!!!

Hi DeviDev.

Synthasite plans to do this in the "Future". I think you are going to make 150 sites or wait months to years for that feature to come into place... Synthasite does not have a MAX limit. Tho if for some reason you can't go over a certain number email support@synthasite.com and they will help you there

Hey DeviDev

At one time i had 62 published sites. Synthasites Servers would be as stable as can be. The only downtime main concern would be an update that may affect the site

Hi DeviDev

While there is no limit to the number of sites you can create, we currently have a limit of 100 published sites per account - the purpose of this is to limit abuse by people with ill intent. However as you say, you could create a second account for the rest.

Server reliability is our highest priority. Even when we do maintenance or an upgrade, published sites remain up. If something unforseen does go wrong (as technical failures can never be fully ruled out) we will work as hard and as fast as we can to restore functionality as soon as possible. We will always keep our users informed in these situations via Get Satisfaction and our email support channel.

Hello DeviDev,

I think your idea is very innovative. Wondering if you can publish your management strategy for your members after you have it up and running. Think we will learn from your experience on this one.

Great luck with this and i look forward to hearing how it all goes.

heya Peter, thanks 4 the support. So far so good i must tell you. I'll def get back to you once things are up an running.

Lee-
I have 150 unique branches, which means i need 150 unique login/passwords, which go through one common gateway site.

Thus i will hav one site, with links to 150 different sub domains.

I am open to suggestion so if you have any better ideas ?? ;-)

it sort of works, If you made the url's more complicated or if you had a few sites which were just used for displaying figures you could cut out the fact people could read the sitemap. Or you could sometimes change the names of important pages, that would work along with complicated page names.

hi lee!!! this is brilliant ;-) thanks 4 the help. from what i understand is that i could possibly do this using java script (which would mean to see the password i'd right click an view code)........

this is combated using the widget!!! which i am more than happy to use, however it needs a professional look which means i would like to erase the 'get widget' graph just below?! any ideas?

no i thought that myself - unfortunatly its not held in the code you enter to the site, there are sites offering pay versions of the same thing.
Further investigation is requiered, i just think having all them sites would be a nightmare to manage, if its all in the same site you can use the 'save page as' function and get the job done much quicker. good luck. Lee.

Hi DeviDev,

You could always use some "login and Password" javascript
to create your own login page. The downside with some these
is that the password can be gotten by viewing the page source,
as I found out the hard way some time back before Synthasite
had this feauture.

Since then I have found quite a few good ones which are very
hard to crack.

I found one bit of code that had a multi-user login feauture
but I'm batteling to find it now. I'll get back to you...

Here's my 2 cents:
Create one login page for all your users.
The passwords are actually encrypted page names, which will
take them to there respective pages on a succesfull login.

The login page can also be encrypted using the following, which
makes it almost impossible to decypher the page source.

The page can then be further protected by preventing "right clicking"

Belt and braces!!

Wow boomer!! thanks a ton!! I'm def gonna give this a go!! i wanna do sum homework on this but i need to deliver this project soonish!!

in total there are 130 branches with 3 different unique logins!! thats 390 all together so i'm gonna have to find an alternative!! with subdomains at least from a support point of view, if i hav a problem with my site, the url link directly to my sub domains is a nice alternative to give to users!!

tx for the smiley over ther Ruth!! ;-)

contact lamp of god. or check out his funny website he has. I forgot his url sry. check out my page to see the url in action.

i have a dummy login password set up. You need pro to run this since it takes uploading js files.

Big ups to lamb of god for the scripting and all the hard labor.
