currently with yola the only options are to set password protected pages which is unprofessional and each page will have same login information and each user will have same login information.

However, I found a wrap around.

to work with yola and have a real login, you would actually need to have a non members area (yola) and a member's area (non yola)

I have successfully created a login on another host http://ycnb2s.zymichost.com and I'm attempting to merge it with yola. Any non member's page will be with yola and any member's only page (account info, shopping carts, etc.) will be on another host. I plan on linking back and forth from yola site to non yola site. If you wish for more info, let me know.

Unfortunately Donald is correct, we don't have a member register and login feature yet, but we do hope to add it in future. We know that many people would like to have people register for accounts and have logins for their sites. We will need to do quite a bit of development to make this possible, so please be patient while we work on this.

As Donald mentioned, you can password protect particular pages on your site, more information on this link.

This might not be quite what you had in mind, but you might want to try using Google Friend Connect. You can find information on how to add it to your site with this tutorial: Adding Google Friend Connect.

Please let us know if this service meets your needs or if you have additional requirements as this will help inform our planning.

Yes member log in would definitely be a plus. My club members are concerned about having to view possible inappropriate posts on our brand new site. So when this feature is made available we would like to know about it. As a novice at this sort of thing it need to be simple.

Hello Asgartha,
At this time we don't have a feature in development for a member's registration and this is not something specifically on our road map right now. Possibly in the future this is something we can look into. Thank you for letting us know what you are interested in seeing.

Its actually been 4 years, i find it terrible that the yola team will not actually look into developing a feature a lot of people are asking for.

Hi Leon,

We understand your disappointment. As Justin indicated below there are third party applications that allow for this feature which is one reason it's not higher on our priority list. That said, it's still on our radar as a potential feature for the future.

An entirely NEW approach to this would:

Have user(s) sign-up on an "off-site". And simply take the code from that site(or write from scratch), and embed it on w.e pages you want user(s) to be able to post on. And, you make a new tab on (whichever) menu you are currently using, and label it "sign-in" or "login", and have that page re-direct to whichever "off-site" you are using.

The reason you should do this is because, i'm pretty sure if you are using an "off-site" that allows members to blog/post, it would be for members only. Therefore, within the script that you embed in the site, it connects [your] site with [their] site.
Thus, automatically checking if they are a member.
{similar to youtube comments, twitter, ro even here @ yola}

I'm relatively new at this whole "forum" thing, so bare with me. Feel free to contact me through w.e means.
