Menu Drop-Down Issues in both full and responsive version

Hi there,

I am unable to automatically expand the menu to see the second-level options.

The only way to see the second-level menu items in published site is to appear is to click on any other first-level menu item, and only then do the second level options appear when I hover in the subsequent page.
I have tried this in multiple browsers and get the same result:
  • Desktop/responsive version: Chrome, IE, Firefox
  • Mobile device/responsive: Chrome
  • Edit mode in MyYola: seems to work and display second-level
Now that Yola is releasing a responsive-like version of some of the recommended styles, since switching off Mobile Publishing I am also have a problem with expanding the burger menu from the landing page. Visitors to the main-page (over 80% of new visitors) are unable to expand and see the menu options at all- so it appears as though there is no menu-option. Neither the first level and not the second level in mobile responsive mode.

Both issues seem to go hand-in-hand... if the second-level menu items don't appear at hover then burger-menu cannot be expanded.

My question/s is how can I get the second-menu items to appear when simply hovering, and how can I get the burger-menu to expand on a phone from the landing page, and potentially any other page that might be affected?
I really don't want to have to use the mobile version any more...

Hi Mvikeli,

Thank you for the prompt response.

Will this pending fix, that the engineers are investigating, rectify the issue where second-level menus aren't accessible from the home/landing page?

Regards,
John

Hello John

I'm sorry it took us so long to follow up with you on this issue. It looks like one of the options you set in your Tumblr Widget unfortunately interfere with the functionality of our Flyover Menus. If you change the Layout option to anything else than the Tiling view, the Flyovermenus start working again on your home page (on your other pages they've been working fine). Please hover over your Tumblr Widget on the home page, click on "Edit", and in the "Layout" section, change to a different view. I hope changing the layout will be acceptable for you, as I can't promise this could be fixed any time soon.

I didn't want to republish your website in order check the navigation on a smartphone because I didn't know if you have unsaved changes you don't want to publish yet. Please re-publish and check if changing the Tumblr Layout will fix the problem on mobile devices, too. If not, you're welcome to let me know, and I'll investigate.
