Metadata description length

I have been trying to fine tune the meta data description on www.rofasia.com. The help screen indicates length of less than 156 characters is ideal, however even if my description is at 155 characters (ie on http://www.rofasia.com/khmer-silk.php) the scan still indicates the description is too short and I get a bunch of alerts. Maybe I am doing something wrong? Thanks for advise. Klaus

The problem is that you will see many different so called expert opinions on how many characters your window/page title and meta description should have.

I went in the middle with mine since 2007 having 70 characters in my window /page title and 150 in my meta description . . .Don't forget spaces count and try not to use worthless words such as "the" "and" etc as they have no SEO value.

Thanks Kan, I agree, however Yola states in their description that the ideal length is 156 characters, so if I have 155 characters the system should not tell me that its too short..

Yola is just one more opinion...If you feel your description at 155 fits what you want to say to those that might be searching for what you have to offer....then you have done your job correctly. SEO is not an exact science and changes constantly.
